What a night last night was! Trevor Carson was MOM, up there with the best keeping performance I have ever seen at Morecambe. This team looks like it is up for the fight, let's keep it up and steamroll Cambridge on Saturday. :P

Fantastic. That was one of the great Mazuma nights. Guts, determination, passion and a desire to win. Can we stay up? Yes we can! And THAT save is the greatest save I've ever seen . Everyone gets at 10* from me.

Massive win tonight. Far from safe but its now in our hands and some winnable matches coming up. May still go down to the wire but we have fighting spirit. You can see what it meant to the players at the end. Adams is starting to come good again.

I think Oxford are the best team I have seen very quick and tricky on the ball we had to be really on our game defensively or they could have ripped us apart, if Robbo was manager it would have been a cricket score last night.

If we can beat oxford then we should be confident of taking points from anyone even MK and Sunderland.

I think you are right about Robbo. He would have gone toe to toe with a very very good Oxford side and we would have been on the end of a tonking.

Which was exactly what happened at Oxford. Much quicker and trickier than us and we tried to play an attacking game.

Well I think we can now say without too much doubt that when Derek said those two weeks off wouldn't be much help for him training the players, he was just playing mind games!

The win against Burton, we completely outclassed them in every footballing and mental department. People mention luck regarding the first goal - I disagree. It was our third good chance of the game, and a fantastic ball from Wildig coupled with really clever movement from Gnahoua. Get into good shooting positions enough times, one will go in. That's not luck!

Last night against Oxford, I'd say it was more about the intangibles - which I think partly comes from the confidence in the excellent win and display against Burton. Didn't let an early setback knock us, and were clinical with our first two proper chances of the game. Although Stockton could easily have given us a third shortly after we went ahead! Second half was backs to the wall against a very good Oxford side - I thought they played very well - when the kind of more intangible qualities really came to the forefront as we dug in. And of course, amazing from Trevor Carson!

I think we're seeing the benefits of those two weeks off. Bit of a mental reset, and I think the players seem more clear and settled in the jobs that Derek wants them to carry out.

I think our players understand their roles in the team for more under DA who has this knack of gelling a side that until his arrival appeared for me to be like sheep lost in the headlights.

It's no coincidence that Judas is having problems at St Mirran where their fans are not a happy bunch by his appointment and the way that he blames the players for every mistake whilst not accepting any responsibility for tactical errors......sounds oh so familiar.

that team now picks itself no way back for AC or Leigh, Phillips, Carson were awesome, the one two with Stockton for our second was sublime.
the way we blocked all their shots time after time said it all, DA has them playing as a complete team again

The vote for MoM was made approx 80min mark for Adam, although it could have been many others. At full time we made the decision to award 2x.MoM after Trevor’s outstanding saves. If could have got 15 awards, I’d have given one to the starting XI, subs and DA!!

Actually, I thought I was man of the match. The amount of willing, worrying, encouragement, twitching, wishing and shouting left me drained. In my head I completed most of the blocks and I sucked in both goals. Thankful to Oxford too, for swapping us round and allowing me to suck those two goals in.

Totally agree. I wasn't happy with Derek's interviews. He clearly wanted a reaction, but it was a dangerous tactic in my opinion. Well, he got it, in spades! Superb. Two weeks have really given him time to get things how he wants.

I'd have both on the bench. Gibbo looked knackered towards the end, after yet another superb performance. It looked like he took a knock too, and with no-one as a clear swap for him, so Leigh being an option would be useful. But yes, at the moment, the players starting the game have the shirt for Saturday.

I'm wondering if Derek has split the squad into the haves and havenots.

He says the squad is not good enough but on the other hand says when talking about the current 11 he speaks positively about this group of players.

Interesting short interview with Derek on Beyond radio, where he was asked if there had been any changes made and why has it suddenly started to click, Derek didn't give much away but he did say that he had made a change in camp and it seems to have worked wonders. Maybe he has done something similar to what happened with Kev Ellison, making the likes of O'Connor and Wes, Greg etc train on their own.

Leigh wasn't there, he was in Jamaica & O'Connor wasn't there, he has [had] COVID.

Wrong....Greg was back on Friday as DA said on radio Lancashire BUT didn't feel that he had recovered from the journey enough to be considered. As for Tuesday.... :?: :?: :?:

Interesting that more of "last years" players are featuring i.e. Phillips, Wildig, Toums, Gibson etc.

Is it that they know DAs philosophy and hence slip into the roles he defines again?

Gibbo and McLaughlin both appeared to pick up knocks in the second half on Tuesday and were a tad off the pace afterwards. Cooney a straight replacement for McLaughlin so no problems there, but with no one for one replacement for Gibbo he had to tough it out to the end.

If Gregg Leigh has fully recovered then I wouldn't be surprised to see him replace Gibbo on Saturday. As for AOC I really hope he's recovered and gets a place on the subs bench probably at the expense of Mensah. In my opinion he gets some unwarranted bad press on here but he hasn't done a lot wrong to deserve it. He's versatile and can play across the back line, plus he captained Aberdeen in a midfield role and pops up with the occasional goal.

Another massive game on Saturday so we really need every man Jack of them to be fit and firing and really up for it. Fans need to give a similar level of support to Tuesday as well. I'm sure we and they will do.

AO'C appeared in almost every game this season in a defence that was shocking.

When not available the defense this past week has been excellent.

Coincidence.... :?: :?: :?:

Sub bench at best for me.

Both Leigh, and O'Connor were available on Tuesday, but Derek said they didn't make the match day squad, and they will be back in contention for Cambridge.

I was referring to the suggestion that they (and others) were being made to train separately to the rest of the squad... ...they weren't training with us at all. Greg was apparently on the pitch pre-match.
