Sacked by Crewe Last night, strange decision given his track record for building successful teams , and developing youngsters and selling them on for big profit. This could come back to bite them.

Yup, strange for the reasons you mention, and sad for him, as a decent bloke.

So how did that work out then?

Crewe have been playing the kids all season so it looks like there isn't the same quality of players coming throgh as there used to be.
Don't worry be happy!

this could be a blessing, as Crewe play Wimbledon, new manager and the honeymoon period ;)

Thought Crewe played some of the best football I’ve seen from a team when they were in Div 2. Forced to sell their best young players it was inevitable they’d end up near the bottom of Div 1 at some point.Decent bloke, good manager but zero support from his club when they have their first bad season in a long while. Football eh?
