"[We] played well in both games... ...defended well, because we had to..."
"The longer you have with the players, they had that break and it has benefitted them."
"We're now looking forward to the games again".
"We've got five big games left. We hope it isn't five, we hope we can pick up the points to get safe before then".
"There's a togetherness in the squad, that's shone through."
"The players have seen an avenue for us to be safe, and that's what we're trying to do".
"We've got players who were needing confidence".
"The players have taken the responsibility on and are raising to the challenge
"

THIS is how I like to see an interview! :D :D :D

So how did that work out then?

That's the interview you do after giving the underperforming players a rocket up the arse and then they go on to win 2 on the bounce. Top manager.

We wanted him back and he answered the call....nearly there leading our survival campaign.

I'm certain that under Judas we would have been relegated already.

No need to pretend it doesn't. At the time I said...

Well, I'm indeed "absolutely delighted to be proven wrong". Clearly the two weeks off, which Derek said wouldn't be any good for improving the players, actually was a fantastic period of time, very well used. And he's certainly got the players putting their body on the line. Possibly need another three points to be safe, but we're close, and may even only need a point.

Must admit I was a huge fan of Derek but had my doubts he could be quite as successful second time round. Obviously work still to do but if he keeps us up it has to go down as the greatest achievement of his career
