Suspect Bradford might be regretting sacking him going by their recent form too.
Bradford seem like a lower level Manchester United to me - no matter what top managers or players they appoint, there seems to be deep rooted problems within the club itself that stop them from succeeding. Derek was simply the latest scapegoat for them. Bradford fans raved about what an upgrade Mark Hughes was for them and he’s lost more than he’s won (and still hasn’t won a home game for them).
I think even their own fans acknowledge the inherent problems, but they just can't help building up massive expectations every season. When a promotion run doesn't materialise they go into meltdown. They can't help themselves. They tasted the big time a few years ago and many of them feel they should be there for ever.
They slaughtered Derek because their CEO had told them that nothing else than promotion this season would be regarded as failure. I bet they are now regretting not treating Derek with a bit more respect and patience. Since coming back to us he is proving what a quality manager he is.
We have humility and patience, they don't. End of!
