I don’t think they did to be honest. Yes Jokull kept two clean sheets during his two games on loan, making some great saves - but I did notice these were often as a result of him palming the ball back into the danger area.
Despite his heroics/good fortune at Wembley, I was less than convinced with Kyle too. Was solid enough from corners, could command his box, and had a good kick on him… but he was slow to react and also seemed to drop the ball a lot. There’s a fine dividing line between ‘cushioning’ the ball and regathering (as the comms team would often highlight)… and being a bit of a butterfingers.
It’s key that we bring somebody in that can compete with Smith - who looked ok vs Ipswich.
