How many kids are missing out on those pitches? The main use of those pitches were from schools tournaments and kids Sunday league, as well as the 'Academy'. Where do they all go now?

I totally agree that the area is short of football pitches. It drives me mad that Acre Moss Lane was left to rot for so many years. I grew up having kick abouts on Turners but I don't think you can get on there now either. Mossgate and Morecambe High have 4g pitches that can be used but surely it is up to the Council to provide rather than the footy club. I do feel a joint venture involving MFC and LCC is the best way to get some sort of Training facility built.

Agreed! When we displaced Westgate Wanderers, we did help with facilities at King George's but in essence took away one footballing facility for the youth. Acre Moss was where me and my mates used to cycle to to play and it is sad that has shrunk and been neglected.

We need more footballing spaces for kids and encourage them to get out of their bedrooms.

It is a shame that nothing has been done with the pitches. Fury could sign cheque to sort them as a community facility for less than a family holiday but he'll only do it if its his idea. Maybe something will eventually happen but we can only wait.

I've heard a rumour today that the club is up for sale with a £5mil asking price.

Every club in the country is up for sale , at the right price.

Wouldn't surprise me. The club is currently worth more than it ever has been in the past and probably more than it ever will be again. A second season in L1 and good attendances etc makes it a very attractive proposition for someone with money to spend either as an investment or a hobby (i.e. millionaire). The way that the club is recruiting for managerial/senior positions also tends to suggest it's being readied for sale as a "turn-key" operation with systems/management in place ready for a new owner to sit back and watch the footie rather than being involved with it's management/operations.

The accounts for the year ended 31 May 2021 have to be filed at Companies House by Thursday. This was the year of virtually no attendances but could show us heading in the right direction.

Has Tyson spent any money on community projects in Morecambe? I can't think of anything.

He was meant to have donated an entire purse to the homeless in the town but that never happened. He also said the pitches would be used as part of the Tyson Fury Foundation but again, no sign of that.

Probably but there is a difference in actively looking to sell rather than receiving an offer out of the blue. If you are looking to sell a footy club, I presume you use some form of agent. Like I said, it is only a rumour I heard today. There may be no truth in it at all.
