Good appointment and let's hope he unearths some hidden gems that we all know are out there.

According to the Salford Fans Forum, all's far from well at Salford with fans complaining about all too frequent sackings and a number unhappy to see Greg depart.

Not sure there are "hidden gems" out there any longer. You're always on about them though so there must be!

He and DA have one hell
of a job to do to put together a new squad capable of competing at EFL1. Probably a bigger job than that of Judas but 2 minds are better than 1 clueless individual.

We need 2 or 3 gems that's for sure, including a proper keeper

I know heads of recruitment are pretty much in the back grounds of clubs

But you never seem to hear about the talent they find

Don’t recall any gems that MF unearthed being mentioned

And same with GS

Suppose they must have mentioned the gems they found on their CV’s as they try to sell themselves to the club

Anyone know ?

We haven't heard anything about Smith and his contract offer yet. Maybe we will hear something soon on it as well as Arthur.

There'll be an eye on finding young players/unpolished gems etc to develop, but there's also short term performance aims to target - eg, avoiding relegation. That's essentially all Foyle would have had in mind in January (his only transfer window with us) and he helped achieve that by helping to bring in a number of players who all made a positive impact.

I think what's important is that they're on the same page with the manager. Foyle and Robinson seem to have that and have been successful together. It seems Adams will have that with Strong given their work at Plymouth. I think that may have been a bit of an issue at Bradford - a recruitment director with different ideas to Adams.

It's another person in alongside Adams who it would appear understands what kind of players Adams will want, and brings his own extra knowledge and contacts etc to try and help get the deals sorted. I feel positive about the appointment, which is needed after the Wildig departure!

With the loss of key figures from last season (Carson, Wildig in particular) and the possible loss of Cole  the new guy is going to be a very important cog in the machine. If we are to stand a chance of staying in League 1 any new signings importance is huge!

The latest signing was no doubt influenced by Greg Strong formerly at Salford City
