Maybe we are not letting Cole go until we can get a replacement.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to withdraw the new contract offer, until Cole is well enough to play again? Or, at minimum, make it time bound, like, the end of the week?

If Cole is genuinely ill, then get well soon, we want to see you back on the pitch.
On the other hand, if he's 'pulling a sickie', then the sooner he's out of the club, the better, because we don't have the time or resources to waste on a player who could go from hero to zero in a very short space of time.

If he's unwell, with diarrhoea & vomiting, then I really do hope he's well soon. Presumably, the club will have asked for a stool sample for culture & sensitivity, finding out what has caused it, to ensure that it isn't passed on to other squad members? If so, they'll know what the cause is before Saturday.

Did you really believe he was actually sick? He's pulling a sickie to force a move.

He wouldn't be coming to Morecambe for training. I think the players get the day off after a Tuesday game.

As you say , probably agents on the way in for talks at the club.

Have you noticed the time that this was posted?

Somehow can't see Cole and others being about so early in the morning to possibly discuss things with our BoD.

Until we hear otherwise, we have to believe the official view.

It will be very poor, if the official line eventually turns out to be a lie, so I'm hoping they are telling us the truth.

Just continuing my observations of Cole being up and about so early in the morning.... :?: :?: :?:

Looking at it from a more positive angle, could it be that he and his party are in the process of discussing a new contract and what we have to offer him in terms of finance and length..... :?: :?: :?:

Wishful thinking I know but IF he was around that early then it could be good news OR the opposite.

Time will tell.... :?: :?: :?:

Or maybe it was convenient meeting place, for the player and two separate agents,(1 player and 1 club) for a trip upto Scotland!!

Why is it taking so long to here what's happening with Cole is he going or staying? And if he's going us Derek getting the money to bring in another striker which we desperately need.

According to Alan Nixon (the Sun) the clubs can't agree a fee. That is the latest from this morning.

Not surprising if they have only offered 100k... either way it needs sorting asap, this could end up ruining our season if it rumbles on n on until deadline day.

IF they're in the midst of negotiations and maybe at a delicate stage, yes, it IS too much for a club update. People just have to be patient. Fans have no right to know the detail of any contract negotiations, it's just nosiness. We either trust Derek & the Board, or we don't. No fans can influence decisions like this and best thing is to let the experts do what they have to do.

A short statement t about whether a bid has been received or not is all we need whilst speculation and rumour persists.

I agree with RedRobo that an update, whether the 'in negotiations' report is accurate or not, would suffice. "Off sick", if that is untrue, shouldn't be repeated.

It would be a very sad end to Cole's career with us, if he has withdrawn his labour and is refusing to play, in a season when every point is so important to our future. Many players have continued to give 100% to their clubs, even when transfers are being negotiated.

I wish we could afford to let him sit on the bench for the season.. see how many clubs want him at the end of this season when he hasn't played at all...makes my blood boil..

Get shut , he had the best season of his career can’t see him repeating it . If he only scores a few goals between now and January his worth will be nothing !
