Colin Goldring failed test

Postby RapidShrimp » Sat Sep 10, 2022 4:26 pm

Worth its own thread, Colin failed directors test despite saying he didn’t. Hence they both stepped down from the BoD.

Behind a 'pay-wall', what's the story?
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?

Would it be a surprise if if it was the same entity that are mentioned as being involved trying to do a deal with Worcester Warriors, Triangle Estate and Petroleum ? Their Companies House listings are as confusing to follow and as numerous as the myriad of the companies linked to Morecambe’s current ownership.

Don`t really care who buys the club as long as they have a bit of cash and are GENUINE

Certainly don`t want anyone like Lemos or the guy who destroyed Bury few years ago

If the club has a new buyer then an announcement form the current BoD will be made in due course.

Just hope that the new owners (?) will let the current BoD operate the club as they have been doing over the last few years.

However we all know that new owners at any club wish to put their mark on the operation ie Chelsea being the latest to have seen changes.

Worried for our club if I'm honest.....

The worrying thing for me is how easy it is to pass the fit and proper test

Hi, just checked and they are still operating, the Directors seem to be the Featherstone family, and a number of people on the Worcester Warriors fans forum appear to have fears there arelinks with the Worcester Warriors owners,

Hoping that the EFL have tidied up the fit and proper rules after the debacle at the Wanderers that allowed our toxic owner to gain control, despite having been banned from involvement for 2 years. But as always it is who you know not what you know.

A time to be on your guard and understand where the money is coming from in our sorry case no money and out for what they could leverage from the club. Hopefully there is enough wealth locally to find someone who cares about Morecambe FC and the future.

Unlikely to happen but would love it if Mr Fury could get involved somehow with our current BoDs to become our owners.....along with maybe other local financial backers who are supporters of our superb club....

I stand to be corrected, but I can’t recollect the business dealings of any other Morecambe football club owners being discussed at length in Parliament as they were this afternoon. Resume on Worcester Warriors fans forum, and in my view I don’t think they came out of it smelling of roses!

There was an article in Thursday's Daily Mail saying that the 2 owners had borrowed £500,000 from the now deceased previous owner of the Worcester Warriors Cecil Duckworth and had defaulted on it.

Some more in todays Daily Mail covering the House of Commons debate on WW.

The MP says that the £500,000 loan from Cecil Duckworth to the 2 owners in January 2020 is not on the Balance Sheet as a Liability and therefore the Duckworth family cannot make a claim. The whole thing is getting murkier !

I'm just trying to ignore all this as there is nothing we can do about it (there isn't an emoji for an ostrich!)

Latest news

Worcester Warriors suspended by the RFU after failing to meet a funding deadline

Looks like they are finished !!!!

The men's and women's teams have been banned from their leagues and won't be allowed to play any further games

Are we going to be next ???

Personally think we need an update from the board regarding our situation and where this latest news puts us

Probably/hopefully not the same problem for us, as there is not a lot that can be asset-stripped. J.B.Christie Trust owns most of the land, so there is no value there. I guess that players could be sold and the money removed from the club, but we'd still be existing, and if they are wanting to sell the club, then its value is increased if we remain in League One. Just my guess/thoughts/interpretation.

Nothing worth the £6M at the Club, even Cole  , never mind the £25M it owes in total.

Rod said a while ago that MFC was a separate entity and had nothing to do with Worcester, if I was on our board I wouldn't believe anything that came out of their mouths having done what they have done to the Rugby club
