Smith was awake!

Bonus point.
Dreadful game.
Third penalty shoot-out won so far this season with (I think?) only one penalty missed.

Felt like a pre-season game, not even pressure on the penalties.

The frustrating thing is, some of the fringe-players should have been busting a gut tonight, to prove that they are first choice quality. Cooney did well, and I think he's a quality player. O'Connor has been excellent in the occasional first team appearances, including today, but none of the others used the opportunity. Gnahoua, Connolly, McLoughlin & Obika looked very average at best, against a League Two side, second from bottom, with only one win all season. Smith, obviously, didn't have enough to do, until the penalties, so will remain second choice for the time being at least. I had hoped for a second win on the trot, to boost confidence.

The substitutes all improved things when they came on, especially Phillips.

Absolutely awful game as expected. At least it ended in an shoot-out which added some excitement.

Very much had a a reserve/pre-season feel About it, the dull game made the atmosphere very flat.

A decent attendance all things considered.

Finally, what was the crack with their keeper and the pause in the game. A lighter was thrown which he handed to the steward then nothing happened and he decided to run to the touch line, with a huge smile on his face. No communication with the fans about what was happening it all seemed very surreal.

We were sat just to the left of the away dugout...their goalkeeper went to talk to the bench. After he'd gone back onto the pitch we asked the players what he'd told them...apparently the object was thrown from out of the ground...not the stand...

Joking aside, hope no-one has been a dickhead in the crowd.

Stones were thrown onto the pitch from the estate behind the Bartercard.

Last night was very poor, but to be expected with the starting 11, Obika is stealing a living. We are great at pens though. :D

The game against Everton U12's was good entertainment and decent football, so I hoped for more of the same last night.
