Shame to hear this. Hope it is a positive move for Farny.

After 13 years of excellence in the care of our teams, Simon has sadly left the club. We owe him our sincere thanks for his time with us and wish him well for his future.

However his departure leaves questions to be answered as to whether there has been a fall out with the manager or is he moving on to a similar position with another club at a higher level than EFL1?

I hope that it is a move to further his career but I'm concerned if the reasons for his sudden departure are to do with the current environment within our club.

Maybe the reasons for his move will be revealed in due course.

In the meantime thanks Simon for all your work and for me he should have a place on the legends wall...

What makes you think there is a problem with the environment around the club?

Can only make comment from seeing the way that Simon appears to be ignored by the current management team on match days. The happy chappy that Simon was seems to have vanished but that is only my observation and could not be that of others who sit in close proximity like myself to the dug out area.

As I say it's only my observation of the situation but his loss and finding a suitable replacement will be a hard act to follow.

It seems that some people always seem to try and look for a downside to things, and if they can’t find it they then speculate would it could be. That in turn encourages other people to speculate. Maybe just maybe it would be as well to accept things on face value and not try to be machevelian. I think the time has come for Simon after committing 14 years to MFC, and also having a lot of private clients nearer to his home, that the 24 hours a day and 7 days is very onerous he most likely fees he deserves to wind down. I feel it’s totally wrong to throw things out into the public domain, when they have no substance whatsoever only someone’s ramblings, which in this instance are a million miles from the facts, and don’t really help anyone

Do we know any facts apart that the club needs a new physio. Has Simon left with immediate effect, is he working his notice or staying until the end of the season. I personally think it's a big blow for the club, Simon is a highly respected member of the backroom staff and if he has left as of now, he will be very difficult to replace. Is it asking too much of the club to give just a little bit more info, posting we need a new physio and pretty much nothing else will lead to speculation.

People move on , 14 years service, maybe felt he needed a new challenge, new surroundings, to say it could be down to the environment around the club is nonsense.

Redrobo, what I have said is what I have been made aware of, as you may or may not recall, none of my posts contain random unsubstantiated or scurrilous comments, I leave that to others.

Confirmed by DA in the Lancaster Guardian that it's to concentrate on his private practice and spend a bit more time with his family. Makes total sense. No need to try and conjure up problems where there aren't any.

That's all we needed..some conformation as to why Simon was leaving. Thank you DA.

When news of a departure of such an important member of the team then surely a more detailed announcement would (and is now) more than welcome.

Sounds like DA making them come in every Sunday might have been issue especially if he has a private practice as well that's a lot of hours.

Listened to the podcast, Simons last game tomorrow, he's become a Grandad and his daughter lives in Australia, some things are more important than football
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think
