Accrington 3 Morecambe 1 [O.G.] LIVE THREAD

Forest Green equalised shortly before Stanley scored, otherwise, we'd be bottom

Commentary team saying Phillips "isolated in the first fifteen minutes of the second half" He's been completely isolated for the entire game! Why we didn't start with two up front, rather than hoof the ball aimlessly, for Phillips to run around chasing, but not getting anywhere near?

One has to question DA's selection and tactics yet again.

FG now winning 1-2....

Softest of soft free-kicks    We really need to start diving, 'cause everyone else does. When he blew, I thought he was giving us the free-kick.

Connolly daydreaming to give the ball away.

We were rubbish before the sending off. We can't pick up points when playing the teams around us. We're definitely looking like a relegation side.

I wonder what's the earliest a team has been relegated from league 1 because we will be gone by February....

Shocking defending by Connolly, game over now. Scoreline flatters Accy. We were matching them before the sending off.

Before the game a stat was announced that we have had more goals against us from shots in the box of any other team in the EFl.

Add another 3 to that growing list....

This is DA's defense so the blame for not closing down and allowing players too much space rests with him and on the training field.

Maybe as Plymouth fans suggested maybe EFL1 is a league too far for him

Can’t see anything changing anytime soon , Derek sticks with his unsuccessful format game after game , we can see the problem why can’t he ????

I don't think it is the defence is the problem as such, it is simply that they are under constant pressure, so eventually, the sheer weight of attacks brings a goal. We can't get out. We're not putting the opposition under any pressure at all. Phillips never had a sniff when up front on his own. Once Stockton came on, we actually looked more threatening, but by then, it was too much to ask.

Start with two up front. It creates more space. Phillips and Cole to start, alongside each other.

'Derek ball' relies upon the opposition having lots of possession, but not creating anything. I think that's why it works in League Two, but in League One, the quality of opposition means they do actually, use the ball well and create far more opportunities.

Unfortunately Dereks tactics of playing a defensive line up even at home that worked in league 2 and hitting teams on the counter hasn’t worked in league 1. Robinson’s teams were probably too gun ho and dereks too defensive so somewhere in between might be better! Carry on like this and we will be relegated.
