Playing Friday Night?

Playing Friday Night?

Mixed views on this. Sheffield Wednesday aren't playing a mid-week game, so while we have two games in four days, they will be fully rested. On the flip side, we get an extra day of rest & recovery before we play Milton Keynes. Would we have been better playing on Sunday, then a shorter gap to the MK game? Or, with next Tuesday, in theory, being the easier game for us, would we be better off focussing on that match as the one to win? If we can reach the last sixteen, the odds of a decent money-spinning draw are high. Home to a Premier League club, and be on TV or away and get a good crowd?

Obviously, in reality, if we beat Milton Keynes, we'll be away to the winner of the Stevenage v Charlton game!

So how did that work out then?

For me, we should be playing on Sunday. Once again there is no consideration for travelling supporters. I'm going to the match but not buying tickets in advance, the reason behind this is that if i'm stuck in Friday tea-time traffic, which I think I will be, and it looks like I will miss a chunk of the game I will turn around and come home. It will cost me in time and petrol money but at least I have not bought match tickets I can't use. Morecambe to Sheffield on a Friday tea-time, great planning, NOT.

Sunday was never going to be game time as both clubs have fixtures on Tuesday. I agree Friday is tough on fans but our loyal fans will still be there in good numbers.
