I wonder if they ever caught the Horwich thugs, who attacked a disabled person and pushed him out of his mobility scooter? Oddly, that wasn't reported on TV, or pretty much anywhere.

Yeah I know, outrageous. I also wonder if Clinton Morrison and Colin Murray will have anything to say, as they sure did in the immediate aftermath.

The club continue to attempt to remove these individuals from following our club, they have issued something like 43 banning orders in recent times and introduced a membership scheme that ensures the club knows who has a seat both home and away. The challenge with these morons is when they are outside of the ground and cannot be associated with the seat they purchased.
They are well aware that recent times we have attracted a more moronic element, (don't get me wrong there has for a long time been a small number of undesirables these are usually policed on our travels by the more senior of us and kept in line), the new younger elements are a challenge.

Would not for one second defend them, it is however a fact they exist and the club is making the best efforts to identify and remove from the equation, the assaults on the fans after the match is appalling and embarrassing for the club. If they are not nicked at the time of the offence or caught on CCTV then they just blend into the night, it sounds like there was never anyone in the frame for this.

I suppose it’s too much to expect retrospective action against Evatt for illegally entering the playing area and stopping the game for no good reason then.

Pretty galling that our excellent reputation - built up over decades - has been dragged through the mud by one prick who has made an unproven allegation.

Akinfenwe got some serious very vocal racial verbal abuse at The Mazuma when Shrimps played Wycombe last season.

I think you’re mistaken... there was a chant that wasn’t very ‘PC’ but it definitely wasn’t racial in nature.

Sorry Catte did you say Bolton Wanderers have had over 20 banning orders (little angels - never)

But its a poor man and wife (Morecambe Fans) who have been slaughtered on social media for something that never even happened !!!

It will be an utter disgrace if EVATT gets away with this but because Bolton are a so called big club he probably will

I am glad this has been dealt with by the police and the proper outcome has been reached but the one thing i hope for now is that Mr and Mrs Baines get a proper apology from the powers that be

You can apply your counter argument to most instances, ie. not PC but definitely not racial, for example there are many many who been killed by over the top policing most of whom will have been non-black. I doubt that Akinfenwe would have singled out had it not been for the colour of his skin.

It was a chant about being a ‘sex offender’ - can you not think of any other reason why Akinfenwa would be ‘singled out’ for this chant…

"Pretty galling that our excellent reputation - built up over decades - has been dragged through the mud by one prick who has made an unproven allegation."

I would suggest that the undeserved obscene chant, which was repeated several times during the Wycombe game towards Akinfenwa, and could be heard at the other end of the ground [I was at the the far end of the Berlin Wall] could easily be construed as a racist chant. As it was chanted by many more than 'one prick' and will have been heard by a lot of decent folk, many from Wycombe, I reckon that Morecambe's excellent reputation may have been put to the test and noticed.

I apologise for spelling Akinfenwa's name incorrectly.

I accept that many would have found the chant offensive but Akinfenwa was ‘targeted’ because his surname rhymes with ‘offender’. If there were a player called ‘Steven Fender’, he’d be just as likely to have been subject to the same chant. Honestly can’t see any ‘racism’ angle here…

Oh heck, a vile offensive chant was thought up by some prick because of how nasty and offensive his target's surname rhymed with it.....and then it was picked up on by portions of the crowd as a good idea to singalong with. Absolutely disgusting.

It isn't a great chant at all, and was rightly highlighted at the time as unacceptable , but I have heard lots of other fan bases chant this to opposition players, and it definitely isn't a racist chant.

It was chanted at the Fleetwood game last season at Simon Grayson. The last time I saw him he was a white Englishman ;)

It’s not a chant I like but no racism there.

Can white people experience racism though.....let's suppose George Floyd had been white and was murdered by a black policeman, would the crime have been headline news and had all sorts of racial eruptions around the world?

I believe it is around 43 they have actively issued banning orders, the Club are doing a half decent job on getting these away from us, of course this is not solving the problem as some will latch onto somebody/thing new.

I doubt there will be an apology as that would involve class, and the CPS have indicated there was not enough to proceed with a prosecution which I think is poor language. Would have been better to say no charge to answer. It was always going to be he said this they said that scenario unless somebody independent came forward to support the allegation, which is backwards as the couple never stood a chance to clear their names and there will always be some that think no smoke etc. This was always going to be the outcome, the sad thing amongst many sad things that came out of this fixture is tarnishing of the individuals and the ill feeling that will remain between the two clubs.

We are not a big club we are an impoverished mid tear team, I feel we have been terribly treated by the EFL since going into Admin, but we all reflect on what happened to our nearest neighbour's who were treated appallingly but had been tied in so many financial knots they ended up being a basket case.

Hopefully all move on, some will some won't hopefully our club continue to identify and jettison our morons.

Akinfenwa one of my favourite players because he goes against what body shape is considered the norm and has a brilliant sense of humour.

Whilst we were wrestling with our Admin problems we played away at Wycombe and as we could not pay wages we played a youth team, filled our allocation. Akinfenwa absolutely bullied the youngsters taught them a great lesson.
Was caught offside a couple of times, our fans were singing your Tixx are offside Akinfenwa your Tixx are offside. Of course they beat us 2-0, after the game he came back on the pitch ran across the pitch to give a shirt to a fan, our fans gave him around of applause that was reciprocated then sang he is one of our own.

Bloke is a decent chap and there is a documentary about him out at the moment. Shame on you :o :D

Fortunately, there was far more respect for him than was shown by a few mindless numpties, singing a crap song, just because it rhymed.
