O/T Summer concerts at the Mazuma

See the OWS for details of a couple of tribute concerts to Abba and Queen in May 2023 on the Mazuma pitch.

I've seen a tribute to Queen already and the show was excellent.

Well done to the club for trying something different to bring some extra pennies into our club. Part of the money raised will go to a local hospice.

:) :) :)

Be nice if we could re-visit that Jools Holland concert that was cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19.

They need to get Massive Wagons booked, they would fill the place!

Not to forget reaching the UK top 10 in the album chart.

They've played at The Alhambra a couple of times, including last night!

Alhambra suffered burst pipes yesterday morning so the acoustic Wagons set and all the other bands moved hastily to Johnnys Bar, who accommodated them all brilliantly. Great night.

Seems reasonably priced and hopefully proves popular - obviously benefits a great local cause in St Johns Hospice.

The only alarming thing is that I learnt about this on Shrimpsvoices of all places! As somebody who considers themselves pretty well engaged with the club, and what's going on at the Mazuma - its odd that I came across this on the dinosaur of all communication/advertising methods.

For anybody else interested, all information and ticket info on the clubs website:

Morecambefc.com:ABBA and Queen Tribute

Has something happened recently at the club recently for this to be the case? Or have I just completely missed the promotion online for this? Also didn't know that the club were running a coach to Port Vale - I thought they'd stopped running away travel due to lack of interest.

What seems to be happening is, there are links on Facebook, Twitter etc to the OWS for the concerts and the Port Vale coach, but on the OWS they aren't showing up on the 'Latest News' feed, so they're easily missed. The concerts I found under under 'Commercial,' the coach I've no idea where it is, apart from the online ticket sales. I hope they don't reduce coach travel further due to apparent lack of interest in this one, it hasn't been widely publicised at all.

Regarding the official coach travel.......I post a message on Shrimpsvoices when the club is running a coach because I want to put it out there to as many people as possible. I don't do twitter, facebook ,etc etc, not everybody does and the problem with the club's official site is that 'latest news' soon gets buried by more 'latest news'. The information about Port Vale match tickets and coach travel was posted on the club's website on 6th December. Maybe the club could 'bump' certain articles so they don't get buried behind everything else.

Seconded!

Personally, I don't 'do' Twitter. I've got an account but don't use it. Facebook, I find is overwhelming with 'stuff' and the Morecambe FC pages are quickly lost. The official site, I tend to check weekly, so BHmfc & others, linking to interesting stuff is always useful.

So how did that work out then?
