Even FGR are rumoured to interested....even though it would be a sideways step for Cole.
As the article suggests interest from Championship clubs has wained and it would be in his best interests to stay at the Mazuma until his contract expires by which time the club's sale may have been resolved and Cole COULD be offered a more attractive contract with ourselves.
All speculation of course when the author of the above is well known for his somewhat fantasy stories.

One player that may have been an option , Joe Nuttall , has moved from Scunthorpe to Oldham on a 3 year contract. Difficult to compete with that !

If the club are now wanting only £150K for Cole then he should have been sold when that figure was rumoured to have already been offered.
Bargain at £150K and I would expect a number of clubs closer to his home would be prepared to gamble at that price.
DA will no doubt be able to tell Cole all about Ross County IF their rumoured interest is genuine....

Some people refer to it as the home for Dingle look alikes.

Motherwell fan here, I stuck my head in previously when Robinson was your manager. Not that long before he (unexpectedly?) jumped ship IIRC but since it seems we've been vaguely linked with Stockton I was curious to take another look.
Obviously I realise there's probably a crate-load of salt to be taken given the link to us is coming from Nixon and Motherwell transfers probably aren't likely to be his bread and butter but what's the script with Stockton? Is his form this season simply down to him taking a huff about the club not accepting offers for him in the summer or has Adams tweaked things tactically that's not getting the best out him?
From the outside looking in his time with you guys feels like him being at a club that has been a good fit especially in context with the rest of his career. Bear in mind my only real frame of reference for him is his time at Hearts where he was...underwhelming.
We're definitely in the market for a striker since as it stands we only have one (fit) centre forward on the books and our squad is paper thin but while we've spent money on fees in the past (usually the mid 5 figures on players in their early-mid 20s with potential re-sale value) I'd say it's pretty unlikely we'd be chucking £150k on a player who's out of contract in the summer.
Our record transfer fee paid is £500k and that was back in the 90s FFS.
A PCA I can definitely see being of interest to us - then it's a question of how it plays out after that.
Ross County are a slightly different proposition. They're bankrolled by a wealthy owner and it's not unheard of for him to chuck money at the team in a January window if things aren't going well (and at the moment they're not). I'd imagine he'll also be keen to back Malky Mackay who he's really doubled-down on supporting.
Anyway, all the best for the rest of the season.
"However, County boss Mackay has denied any approach to Morecambe, now managed by former Staggies manager Derek Adams, has been made.
"I was bemused to see those reports," Mackay explained.
"I thought the reporter would have phoned me before deciding to run something like that, because it was news to me.
"We haven't put a bid in about Cole Stockton at all, we haven't even enquired about him, so maybe he should have asked me before doing a favour for the agent."

They are currently top of the Scottish Championship and he could be the difference between playing Rangers and Celtic next season or still playing Cove and Queens Park
Don`t think they would let him go for less than 300 - 400k (out of our range unless we get new owners)
Regarding Stockton going to Ross County ... He would certainly be moving to a beautiful part of the country and if they stay up he would be playing against the likes of Hibs, Hearts, Rangers and Celtic
