Excellent result. A real buzz in the Bartercard and coming out of the ground yesterday. Still in a perilous postion, but far less perilous.
Difference for me is the 2 wing backs. Both Cooney and Mayor offer a real threat down the flanks. This has tended to draw more defenders out wide and created more space in the middle crucially giving Weir, Shaw and Phillips that little bit more time to be creative and direct. With both wing backs on song it's clearly rattling opposition defences. More of the same please.

As everybody on this forum knows (assuming that they can be bothered reading my sometimes dribble :o ) that I've been critical of DA and his negative tactics. However as said previously when I've got it wrong then I'll be the first to admit my error AND in recent performances I have been wrong and all credit to OUR manager for a more positive approach.

For me DA has seen the positives by employing Gibbo in midfield and Gibbo has grown into that role and his performance yesterday was brilliant and he is now key to our recent success along with Adam Mayor who is excellent in his new role of wing back and both have become key figures in our recent performances albeit against somewhat inferior opposition. The first real test for this new team set up will be against Ipswich but we go into that and other games with a new found confidence which argues well for the rest of this season.

DA has once again seen the capability of the above to take on different roles and he is to be commended for his foresight in making the changes that have brought such a change on the field.

Nice one DA.... :) :) :)

Whilst I agree the ref was poor, I didn't think the Watts shout was even a foul, the contact appearing minimal at best, and like Keith I thought it started outside the area. I also thought when Phillips went down in the box 1st half it was extremely soft and a penalty would have been harsh on Cheltenham. Lots calling offside on May for their goal, but to me it just looked like a well timed run. That being said he was clearly more generous to them, and I totally agree that last free kick should have been ours not theirs. Ultimately the important thing is we won and we're out of the relegation zone, hopefully for good.

PS RR, I don't know whether it's autocorrect, but you keep using 'argues' when you mean 'augurs'.

For those of us who weren't there Keith, what were the circumstances leading to this?

The ball had gone out of play, and we were doing the 'fannying around' with the ball, wasting a few more seconds. May went to try and get the ball in play quicker, and there was a bit of 'handbags' by the corner flag. Ripley grabbed him, lifted him up and carried him away from squaring up to our lad! The size difference was somewhat noticeable.

So how did that work out then?
