Welcome Dan!

I think its a deal to end of the season rather than a loan.

Welcome Dan , he sounds like a very constructive player.

He's got some experience for a young lad!

40 apps for B'ham and 100apps in the Dutch premier, just wonder why they have released him early.

You are right, he's been "transferred" according to the Willem ii website (via Google Translate!)

"Daniel Crowley's transfer to Morecambe FC has been completed. After the midfielder passed the medical in northern England, he signed a contract with the League One club until the end of this season.

Crowley submitted a request to Willem II some time ago to return to England with his family during the current transfer period. He got permission for that. After the clubs already came to an agreement, Crowley also reached an agreement with Morecambe FC in recent days. That club currently occupies 19th place in League One, England's third tier.

Crowley played 84 official matches in Tilburg's service over two periods. He returned for a second stint in February 2022. Since then he has played in 32 games.

Dan, thank you and we wish you and your family every success and happiness in Morecambe!
"

Sounds like a really positive move and although only 25yrs old, he's got loads of experience. I wonder if he's 'putting himself in the shop window' back in England, or whether he may end up with a longer contract? Either way, he looks like a great signing.

No complaints from me as we expand our search for players into Europe....

Welcome Daniel and hope both parties benefit from your return to English football.

Continues the 'one in ....one out'....scenario.

Happy with this. Seems very talented if a bit patchy, but Derek seems to work well with those kinds of players.

Good that we've got some added creative depth in midfield. With Taylor out injured at the moment, we were looking very shallow beyond Shaw and Weir. Going forward I think we now have some seriously good options with Shaw, Weir, Crowley and Taylor (when he's back) offering creativity in midfield, then Hunter, Mayor, Watts and Gnahoua as options further up the pitch to support Stockton and Phillips.

Wouldn't mind a bit of defensive midfield cover or a bit more at wing-back now if we're able to shift one more (probably AOC or McLoughlin) out.

As much as he's been the scapegoat in some areas, I thought Love's best game for us was when he played in the defensive midfield position (can't remember which game it was). While no-one is taking Gibbo's position at the moment, if he picked up an injury or suspension, I'd be happy to see Love tried there again.

May still need someone up front, if Stockton moves on. I just hope it doesn't rumble on until deadline day, then be too short a time to bring a replacement in. That's obviously, dependent upon his injury.

Fair point, and AOC can do play there too. I agree we've got people who can cover but I wouldn't like to be relying on them if I'm honest, especially if Gibson is likely to be missing a few games at some point. A specialist to compete/cover for him would be good if possible.

On Stockton, I'd be surprised to see him go in this window. The price will have probably dropped since summer but we'll surely still be asking for six figures, and I can't really see anyone being willing to pay that currently after the half season he's had and given he's out of contract in the summer.

The Cheltenham fans seem in the main to rate him and they wish he was there now to play alongside Alfie May.

Not sure I'd drop anyone, though, so perhaps on the bench.

Let's hope we haven't signed him because someone is likely to be recalled.

Hopefully all the Loanees' parent clubs can see how much game time their players have had and how they have shown such good form playing on our beautiful pitch.

Funny because you would think that something like a pitch wouldn't matter to parent clubs but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was actually a big factor. They wouldn't get the same experience of playing football this way somewhere like Port Vale as its just not possible all the time with their pitch. That and they are in such good form for us right now playing consistently it would make sense if they stayed. I really hope they all do, regarding Crowley I genuinely think he has the possibility of being one of our best ever signings, I know lots of factors could get in the way but if he can recapture some of his form at Birmingham he could be sensational for us.

I'd think that we must be developing a good relationship with Southampton, given that we now have a second player from them, so feedback to them must be positive. My concern would be that [say] Shaw could be recalled, then sent out to a Championship side. But hopefully, the parent clubs are happy with their lad's development, so leave them all with us.
