Get stuffed Burton.....

Cole is better staying with us and seeing how things work out until the end of this season.

This bid in my opinion is nothing more than a move to unsettle him and play mind games.....

Burton have tabled a 75k bid, rejected by the club. Board want to do a deal, but Derek doesn't want to let him go.

Edit - Twitter account spouting nonsense. :D

Put this comment on other thread but why would you want to sell to a team in our "mini league" !
Who would we get to replace him so close to the deadline ? .
is this in anyway connected to Cole's goal celebration where he patted the badge on his shirt and pointed at the ground ?

The board must need their bumps feeling if that is true! Burton have just lost their key goal scorer, so will really struggle now, if they can't replace him. Even if Cole err, 'got sick' again, it would be worth keeping him, rather than selling to a relegation rival who are only two points behind us. Surely staying in League One is worth more than £75k? If we sell Cole to Burton, and they manage to stay up at our expense, it will be a massive mistake.

Keep Cole for the rest of the season. Keep him focussed on the job in hand and 'putting himself in the shop window', then we'll wave goodbye to him in July. Hopefully, he'll get double figures between now and then, and we'll be comfortably safe.

Hang on a minute. The rumour about Burton bidding for Stockton is from one of the more reputable sites, and doesn't seem too much of a stretch since Burton have cash in the bank and a need for a striker after selling Adeboyejo to Bolton. Wouldn't surprise me if they have had a sniff. Link: https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/exclu ... cambe-bid/

However, this supposed £75k figure with the board apparently at odds with Derek has been reported by a sketchy Twitter account that churns out transfer rumours. Not something I'd be reading into there. Link: https://twitter.com/transfernewz21/stat ... 4724198400

Money seems to be burning a hole in their pockets with bids in for a number of players.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the board wanted to do a deal, they can either take 75k now or lose him for nothing in the summer, and with our current situation it would make sense to them, but surely it is worth more to them to stay in league 1. To strengthen a direct relegation rival at this stage would be ludicrous.

No way would any of our excellent BoD suggest to any media that they would do a deal and whoever the originator of the tweet is is simply out to unsettle Cole in the hope that would be of benefit to Burton and their relegation battle.

With our midfield three of Shaw , Weir and Crowley why would we do a deal to sell Cole

I think Crowley and Cole could link up very well and Cole could get into double figures for goals

A few posts on the thread say the board want to do a deal. O.K, they may want to do a deal, but I think it will be at least a little larger than that on offer.

When they say the board want to do a deal , surely they mean Del Boy and Rodders. I doubt if the board running things here in Morecambe want to do a deal.

Are you suggesting that, if a deal to sell the club is close, some of the board don't care if we are League One or League Two next season, while some of the board care a great deal?
