Silly money deals

Silly money deals

Postby redrobo » Tue Jan 31, 2023 3:49 pm

There are a number of EFL deals going through or have been completed which have seen 'silly money' being forked out by some clubs in their bid to gain promotion or to stay clear of the relegation zone.

Burton have signed 7 new players to date which would mean an increase in their wages budget.

Fleetwood have spent a lot of money on a couple of decent strikers whilst Lincoln have forked out £300,000 for a midfielder.

The above are just a few of the deals that for me smell of desperation by the clubs concerned and are yet another example of owners panic buying in some cases.

We'd all like OUR club to be able to pay fees for experience but NOT at the expense of putting our club into financial suicide.

I'm amazed at how clubs appear to exceed their league sanctioned budgets without any redress from the EFL powers.

Constantly impressed by our ability to sign (usually) high quality players on such a shoe-string budget.

I'd like to see some of the Premier League managers come and try to do what Derek has done for us with some of the squads over the years.

Fleetwood have signed another striker from Waterford FC in Ireland and goes on loan to Alty straight away.

No doubt yet more money involved BUT surely the number of players registered to Fleetwood exceed the total amount of wages against income.... :?: :?: :?:

Who is the owner of Waterford FC?
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?

Shock...Horror....a certain owner of Fleetwood by any chance...

Surely an owner of one club can't be the owner of another....or is it due to a different league in a different country.....

The entire way that he can do it .....STINKS.... :( :( :(
