Graham Howse Update...

Graham Howse Update...

Postby Keith » Thu Feb 02, 2023 8:06 pm

No big news yet, but...

"It is fair to say the sale process hasn’t progressed as quickly as we all would have liked - that said, my understanding is that exciting times are ahead both on and off the pitch.

Sarbjot Johal is eager to start the project to take the Club on to a new level, subject to satisfactorily navigating the EFL Owners and Directors’ test. Sarbjot, through his company Sarb Capital, has recently purchased equity in the Club, injecting more than useful income into us.

I am, along with Sarbjot, keen that the process should now move on at pace to come to a positive conclusion
".

So it sounds like money has changed hands somewhere along the line?

That's very big news. First time the club have acknowledged that the Sarbjot bid is serious and likely.

The Sarbjot situation makes me nervous, but I have to assume the club is doing everything they can to ensure the funds exist and will be available.

Agreed but you wouldn't have thought Graham would have made such a positive statement unless he wasn't convinced by the takeover

I'm confused about all this!
Maybe I don't have the business acumen or am just reading the numbers wrong.
I really hope it's a positive outcome.

For me "big news" will be when the deal is done, or, past the point of no return. Until then, we're still potentially in the world of dodgy Brazilians and Italians who sleep in the boardroom! I'm filing Graham's statement under 'moderately, cautiously, positive' 8-)

We all remember the fanfare that accompanied the previos buyer when he was introduced to the crowd.

Surely we can't undergo a similar nightmare....or can we.... :?: :?: :?:

Previous buyer allowed the board to run the club without interference and we rose into League 1 on their watch. A 'similar nightmare' might result in us getting another promotion.

The previous owner didn't want to give Jim Bentley a new contract when the board probably would have done and instead brought in Derek.

..and as much as I like Jimbo in hindsight it was the correct decision as results and promotion have proved.

Aren't they the 'current' owners?
