Unable to comment of the Derby game BUT just to show what we and others in a similar financial position are up against in this league. Derby's average gate is circa 25,000 and at an average of £20 per head that's an income of £500,000 per game...... :o :o :o

Our average of circa 4000 at £20 per head brings in £80,000 per game if we are lucky.....

Exactly RR, which is why if we stay up we'll have done well and if we ever finished in the top half of this league we'd have done exceedingly well. We are very near to the pinnacle we can ever reach without a very wealthy owner and even then look at the likes of Fleetwood and FGR struggling down at the bottom with us. It is what it is.

But we can still dream!

Still, it will be a lot easier in our next away game...

Just as an after thought......little wonder that some clubs can afford to pay £1million transfer fees and have wages for certain players circa £7500 per week and possibly more in a few cases.

Which puts our BoD and management team as astute financial wizards.

Just hope than whoever (and when ever) takes over is fully aware of the financial implications of being an EFL1 club.....and the commitment that they and our current BoD have been and will be in the future in terms of financial prudence :o

I think we’ll take a hell of a lot less than £80000 a match. A standing season ticket holder pays about £6.50 a game. The only ones paying £20 are the away fans.

My figures do not include season ticket purchases from either clubs but even if you include them as a rough guess the difference in income per game is still considerable and far above what our take may be.

Neil, if your figures don't include season tickets how do you get 4,000 per game? Surely most of those 4,000 are season tickets?

I think you get my drift (hopefully ;) ) about matchday incomes from clubs like Derby, Sheffield Wednesday and Ipswich to show the huge difference between ourselves and others like ourselves against the so called bigger clubs who have the finances from gates and season tickets plus numerous additional financial streams to have significant playing budgets which gives them the finances needed to pay huge transfer fees compared to clubs like ourselves.
