A nice move, almost finished by Stockton, but he just didn't connect properly!

Much better this half.

Listening to the home commentary for a bit. They said, of the substitutions "I think Morecambe have thrown in the towel now, they've taken their most influential players off"

We've had a few half chances, but Wednesday probably had another couple of gears if we did score.

"They may as well get him off for me, Stockton has had a stinker"

He has! I thought that, but their commentator definitely said O'Connor and I'd not had time to check!   it was Austerfield.

How is that not a handball?

He literally sticks his hand out in front of it. There's a chance it went off his shoulder, I can't really see but he very clearly stuck out his arm

Cheating twats!

Good job the game was over, but that was so blatant, it made 'Hand of God' look accidental! Typical, crap ref & linesman again.

Stockton off for Hunter.

I shouted handball straight away and having watched it three times, I'm convinced it was. His arm was held out to steer it in.

It doesn’t make any difference (unless we get relegated on goal difference…) but the third goal does annoy me a bit. Can you imagine one of our players smashing the ball into the goal with his outstretched arm and getting away with it? Where are our dodgy decisions? Are the officials saving them up for our final few games where we’ll get 9 penalties?

Incredibly disappointing how sloppy the goals conceded were. Pretty bog standard balls in behind the wing-backs. And not tracking Bannan for the first one is absolutely nuts.

It was always going to be hard tonight, and if Sheff Weds had done away with us thanks to a slick passing move then fair enough. But I'd be a bit ashamed conceding those goals in a week-night 5aside match, so it was very frustrating to fall behind like that.

Onwards to Peterborough. Back at home against a team who, unlike FGR, will probably give us a bit of space to counter attack!

Exactly. Okay, we were well beaten, especially in the first half, but Wednesday got every soft knock & fall over, while our lads had to have their legs chopped off before we got anything. In the first half, Stockton got shoved in the back as the ball was coming in to him, and we got nothing, nut a couple of minutes later, two players came together, and both went down, and they got a free-kick. It was like that throughout.

Okay, none of the decisions were decisive, but come on, lets have some balance from the officials.

Can't be upset by the third goal! Should have been a free-kick-kick and a booking!

But yes, pretty sloppy, especially the first.

Conceding a sloppy goal in the first minute is criminal. It’s irrelevant how good the opposition are, not being able to keep your concentration for the first 60 seconds of a game is poor.

I know, ultimately, it made no real difference, and they were much better than us, but even Sheffield Wednesday fans acknowledge that the ref was a 'homer':

What’s negative about the post? It’s a fact, yet if we get a bad decision you often get the quote “worst ref Ive ever seen at Hillsborough”

Tonight we got every single decision, so no doubt for some on here the ref will have been great.

We got everything off the ref last night, which made for a refreshing change.

Tbf, I thought the ref was great.

Don't think their manager will agree.

When even the opposition fans agree that the ref gave them everything, you know he was a 'big club' ref. With the Derby ref being their MotM, and Wednesday even allowed to blatantly punch the ball in to the net, you wonder if the 'dodgy decisions' ever do balance out?

The BBC Report on the game included:-
Wednesday wrapped up proceedings in the 87th minute when substitute Fisayo Dele-Bashiru showed a burst of pace in Morecambe's penalty area and squared across the six-yard box for Windass to head into an empty net.
I assume his head is on the end of his arm then!
A terrible decision by the officials, but only what we have come to expect.
