Sarbjot Johal

OK....my post about his Rolls and Number plate was bloody stupid....

BUT still haven't found any explanation as to WHY MORECAMBE that he wants to take over.... :?:

Surely he realizes that he can't make much money out of it and that he will need to inject a few pennies into OUR club going forward.... :?:

Still find the whole situation to date in need of greater clarification in particular about his financial prowess which surely must be of concern to the majority of fans.... :?:

Does he realise he can't make much money from the club though. We don't know how the clubs been promoted to him by the current owner? I still find it difficult to understand how he will even afford the purchase price based on all the evidence which has come into the public domain recently. (Providing it's true of course which is subject to a lot of conjecture).

Hopefully the EFL are right on top of this! They don't appear to be rushing into a decision which may indicate they are going over the bid with a fine tooth comb. They surely don't want the embarrassment of any more dodge pots slipping in under the radar to club ownership, so hopefully they're doing more enquiries nowadays than appears to have been the case in some previous takeovers of their member clubs.

If Mr Johal is legit then best of luck to him. We wait with baited breath!

In which case why would “a local consortium” be interested ?

What if, for example, he sees his future business interest as being an expansion in to India, and therefore, owning an English Football League club is a great way to raise his, and his company's profile?

I think possibly it's all about raising his profile

Buying the club could be a very cheap way of advertising/marketing his drinks brand. Rename the stadium, get the brand name on the shirts, pitchside advertising signs facing the camera, etc., and he's got local and national media exposure.

You realise he could do all of the above for less than 10% of the price it will cost to actually buy the club, right?

Oh I don't know... An English football team in the third tier, debt free with record crowds, numerous catering awards including nationally acclaimed pies. The potential is there. He could do far worse.

Why are you so persistent on insisting the club is a bad business investment? It's far from it.

Yes, that'd be the assumption but I'm talking facts, not speculation or hypothetical scenarios.

As it stands, MFC has regular sell out crowds and is debt free. The deal is based on the business as it was when the offer was submitted.

Who has valued OUR club at £20 million must be out of their mind :?: :?: :?: :o

For me anything more that £1 million is ridiculous.

Just hope that the EFL kick his bid out of court which leaves the current owner with few options other than to accept a more realistic figure and as someone said to me today 'that changes the ball park for buyers' which he understands could encourage a local consortium made up of 3 investors.

IF we get relegated the value of OUR club will fall considerably..........[/quote]

Redrobo, in your post you write '3 investors', not asking for any names, but does your source have a certain 3 in mind? Just curious.

Not offended just been busy.

Yes the Chair of the EFL when Captain toxic took over and screwed over Dean Holdsworth was a big mate of his, and when he left the role at EFL had his party at the man's restaurant in London.

Hope your man is legit, not sure the valuation of the club is accurate as the new owners at the Wanderers got it for a lot less than £20M, they took on the debt at 25p in the pound and I believe they have gone above an beyond and running a tight ship enabling them to buy players this season.

Morecambe as a club has to be of interest to an investor at the right price, there is scope for investment and building of the club going forwards already seems well run so the board are doing a good job. Will the two Herbert's you have now get the price they want mmm will the lad pay over the odds not if he is a business man. There is definitely potential. I will take a draw this weekend with no trouble from the morons.

Read a tweet somewhere that Johal has requested an extension before he submits his current financial position to the tax authorities.

Thank you, perfect response! When I first read it, I was uncomfortable, but the response from Mr Grumpy was already made, so I decided to leave it for the time being. Neil having an 'Alan Partridge moment' is a good way to describe the comment!
