He says that only the players and management can change things.....a dose of your own medicine would be more than welcome DA....is that asking too much.... :?: :?: :?:

I get the feeling he's already accepted that he's had his day....with every interview praising the opposition and constant reference if not directly about the lack of finance given to him.

I think that the playing budget has been drastically reduced from the one that Robinson started with in the Summer of 2021. My thoughts are that despite much increased season ticket sales , the 2 owners have withdrawn considerable sums that they have put in as loans. This is absolutely legal but would explain why a club with an average of 4,600 gates has a smaller budget than say Accrington who average much lower crowds (just over 2,000 for their last 2 home games}

Many of the new fans are here because it is L1 football and the season tickets were a bargain.
If we do end up in L2 i can see us losing a fair few as I'm pretty sure ticket prices will have to go up, particularly with losing quite a few away end sell outs

Derek does seem to have thrown the towel in
Enjoy yourself.... It is later than you think

Quite possible..BUT there is no confirmation of this as is the thinking that our budget is lower than Accrington's.

As for the current owner(s) they need to sell at what they can get and if we end up in EFL2 the value of OUR club will diminish considerably. Not convinced that the current option will stay around in EFL2 which goes back to my belief that a local consortium will come forward and get the club for a song. Still my preferred option despite being criticized for my preference on this forum.

Just about the interview - not sure it would have been answered even if asked, because Derek Adams interview style is basically to turn the question into one that he wants to answer :D ... but I think the following questions should have at least been put to the manager to give the supporters some understanding about the game and its outcome:

What was the thinking behind the change in formation/shape
Why do you think the changes didn't really work
Why no substitutions during the game - when it became clear that the tactics weren't working
How come we have become so poor at defending set pieces in our last two games - this has previously been a strength

The interview was largely pointless - and didn't really tell us anything from a supporters perspective about the game itself.

What did come across is Derek's mood - the ease at which he accepted the result and more woryingly the performance was uncomfortable. His prickly nature and feistiness weirdly make him likeable - but there was none of that. What happened to we are not little old Morecambe? Its 11v11? Whatever level we play at, we are always going to be the underdog in the EFL - we get that.... has Derek lost his fight?
Hello! Hello! We are the Morecambe boys!

I felt the manager's behaviour last night reminded me of a child having a tantrum. He seemed to offer no coaching or encouragement to the players during the game and resisted making any substitution to try and improve things. He seemed to be saying to the club owners and directors "you haven't supported me in the transfer window so I'm doing nothing to motivate the players and if the club is relegated it's your fault!"

I love DA

He got us up. He worked miracles to keep us in this league last year after the departure of Judas (who has since shown he is actually a very good manager in terms of St Mirren's development...but never mind).

Yes, I think we're going down this season. He looked a person who knew the finality of the limits of this team yesterday.

I hope this Sarbjot stuff can get itself sorted so we can have a good season next year (in the 4th tier). I hope DA stays and gets a decent budget to bring in some players that can perform at that level while getting rid of a lot of dead rope. As I see it, we lost a magnificent keeper in Carson, we lost Ayunga who was poor sometimes yet had an outstanding spark when he turned it on. Obviously Stockton's form / attitude has been a massive difference. The loss of Songo'o still hurts as does losing Ockers (mark 5/6?). A lot of 'in hindsight', but I still believe in DA and I think we should be doing all we can, showing him some love (though not Don) to keep him as the gaffer for next season.

I doubt you'll find anyone on this forum who wouldn't agree that a local consortium is their preference too. Why you get criticism over this is because you don't provide any evidence that such a consortium even exists. If it does exist, then happy days. It is certainly my preference too. But, it has to be more than simply your wishful thinking before it is taken seriously.

Also, as I said elsewhere, if Sarbjot Johal's interest is genuine and his funding is legitimate & available, then obviously keeping his bid back until we know which league we're in next season makes complete sense. If it was your money, would you buy now for [say] £5 million, or wait, and if we're relegated, get the club for [say] £3.5 million? I know I'd be waiting. If he buys now, he can't invest money in the playing side, to improve our chances of staying up. I'd be saving the cash, then investing it in the club next season, rather than giving it to the current owners. If we stay up, then pay the higher price. [Figures for illustration purposes, I've no idea what the actual value is.] Again, your 'evidence' that Johal's interest isn't genuine, appears to be based upon 'gut feeling' rather than 'evidence'. You may be correct, we'd all love to know, but right now, you're just basing this on guesses. That is why you get the criticism.

I do think we have backed ourselves into a corner with the season tickets because what do we do going forward? At some point we need to put prices up and then everyone will complain.

Also it is stopping a lot of walk ons Derek has mentioned this in his interviews you need more people showing up paying £20 per game.

Sarbjot is keen if anything he has hardly missed a match since his initial interest and all this with the EFL doesn't seem to be putting him off so I think he will still be around even in league 2.

We would all like to see a local consortium but sadly even at League 2 level the money involved means it very hard for your local businessmen to have enough funds to keep the club going those days have long gone.
