The Run-In

The Run-In

I've not included Cambridge, because, let's face it, if they catch & pass us, we're down. And I've not included Burton, because while they may still go down, it won't be because we've finished above them. Realistically, for us to survive we need to be in front of two, from Oxford, Accrington and/or Milton Keynes.

Oxford: 10 games left. 36 points. GD -10

Morecambe [a], Cheltenham [h], Peterborough [a], Sheff Wed [h], Port Vale [a], Bolton [h], Portsmouth [h], Barnsley [a], Forest Green [a], Accrington [h]

Accrington: 11 games left. 35 points. GD -25

MK Dons [h], Plymouth [h], Exeter [a], Port Vale [h], Sheff Wed [a], Fleetwood [h], Peterborough [h], Portsmouth [a], Bolton [a], Cambridge Utd [h], Oxford Utd [a]

Milton Keynes: 10 games left. 33 points. GD -22

Accrington [a], Morecambe [h], Wycombe [a], Portsmouth [h], Derby [a], Cheltenham [h], Charlton [h], Fleetwood [a], Barnsley [h], Burton [a]

Morecambe: 9 games left. 33 points. GD -25

Oxford Utd [h], MK Dons [a], Barnsley [a], Plymouth [h], Portsmouth [a], Wycombe [h], Charlton [a], Lincoln [h], Exeter [a]

Oxford probably have the easiest run-in, playing us, Cheltenham, Forest Green & Accrington.
Milton Keynes also have four games against bottom sides, Accrington, us, Cheltenham & Burton.
Accrington have three games against relegation threatened sides, Milton Keynes, Cambridge & Oxford.
We have two games against relegation rivals, Oxford & Milton Keynes, and arguably the toughest run-in.

I think if we fail to pick up six points in the next two games, we will go down, partly because I can't see where the other points will come from and also because we need to stop our rivals too. Win both and it remains a tough challenge, but we're still in the scrap.

It can be as difficult to play against relegation rivals as playing against some of the top teams. The ones that stay up will be the ones that want it enough!

But, it means that teams will be getting points, no matter what. For example, the last game of the season, either Accrington or Cambridge, or both will be picking something up.

I agree, we've got to want it enough, and certainly more than our rivals. We're not showing that at the moment.

Caleb Watts and Ryan Delaney MUST start each game.....if they don't then bye bye League One. And I've read it on FB and agree, Crowley and Hunter are too lightweight in the same team.

Agree - should start Watts and Delaney. Bedeau back when fit.

Hunter has been a bit poor recently, but Crowley must start - he is arguably our most skillful player on the ball.

We've basically got two clusters where I think we will gather points. The next two games and the last three. We will still need points in between but if we can get four wins and a few draws we might just scrape it. Less optimistic after recent results but we live in hope.

Of all the clubs in danger of getting relegated we've by far got the most difficult run in....BUT still believe that DA can pull off another miracle although it could be down to the last game at Exeter.

I'd be utterly amazed and delighted if we can go in to the Exeter game with even a mathematical chance of staying up. Playing like we have [again] today, I can't see us getting another win all season.
