Joey Barton - your views

You see the same tackle almost weekly and we don't hang the players for it. All this is just because it is Joey Barton, since coming out of prison the lad has been attacked at every opportunity. Yes, the tackle was bad and he got red cardrd for it aling with the regulatory ban, do you go on this much about others players? No.
BTW, the disciplinary issue with NUFC is because of things said between him and Shearer, not the tackle or card.

He should have been chucked out of football for the assaults in the first place. Then it would have been Sunday league he was playing in.

Without that Red card there would probably have been nothing said between him and Shearer.

Ask a set of questions about Barton the footballer, and Barton the person.
Use the Traffic Lights method for the answers.
So the answer to each question is either red, amber or green.
To pass the test at least 75% of the answers should be green, with the odd amber.
Any red answers would seriously question the worth of the individual as either a footballer or person.

Or...

Use your system (which I think I understand what you are driving at) to ask questions that are 80% Barton the man and 20% Barton the footballer. To 'pass the test' he still needs that 75% you mention.

Yep, you're right, the person should be judged before his trade.
Either way he's a proven liability.

Never noticed this thread..Great football player and when interviewed he is articulate and seems to be a charming person. But until he gets his temper under control he will remain a Scumbag Tosser.

He should be banned from football no matter how good he is.
