I agree. There's nothing to suggest John or Baz want the job, likewise Drummy. They're probably happy having a steady, less demanding and less risky and virtually lifetime, job, than go onto the managerial carousel. They're settled and have family locally and that's maybe more important than traipsing around the country getting appointed and then sacked as manager. I've always thought that giving Jimbo the manager's job straight after being the captain was also a mistake due to lack of experience - he'd have made a cracking assistant manager first and then maybe moved to manager after a period of gaining experience as the No2.

In which case, I think it'd be very hard to attract candidates like Darrell Clarke and Michael Flynn. If the ownership situation gets resolved but Derek decides he still fancies a break or something, then I don't think that the likes of Clarke or Flynn would be unrealistic.
Basically it all hinges on resolving the ownership situation. If it is resolved soon, then I think it's pretty likely Derek will stay as I get the impression he has a strong relationship with the board and people around the club. I think the occasional bit of venting he's done in interviews is directed at the owners, although he obviously can't explicitly say 'Bond Group are dickheads' etc, as much as he might want to!
