Still playing at Gillingham cos the lights went out, they are winning so they stay up, bradford lost so Orient promoted, the players just having a chat to each other while the game is on, weird.

Oxfords point and their goal difference could be decisive

From the stats they were unlucky not to take all 3 points. I think Saturdays game at Charlton is the decisive one. Win it and we're in with a decent chance.

Whilst it keeps the dream alive on paper, it still remains very very unlikely.
We need to win 2 away games in a row, which given the form on our travels this season, it's not going to happen.

Rough maths would say 47 points would probably be enough. Slip up once, even a draw, and that will be that.

If you knew that you were going to be in a relegation scrap before the season started, you would want to be playing 3 mid table teams for your last 3 games, and that is exactly what we have. Like you said Saturday is key. Get a result down there and it really is game on. COYS

Honest question.

Our away form has been dreadful this season, have we ever had a season with worse stats?

So far

Played 21, Won 1, Scored 12, Conceded 42: Total 9 Points

Oxford have Accy, Forest Green and Cheltenham to play I can see them getting enough points from those games.

I know what you mean but they haven't been winning matches. Both the Accrington and Cheltenham could easily be draw which could leave them with 46 points. If we win all ours we'd be on 47.

At this stage it's all about form, luck who wants it the most. You could argue our form is poor and so is our luck. However a last minute win and we might just pick up from here. Also with other teams they will be looking for the winnable games. With us it's basically win the next match to stay in it. Our chances are slim but we kind of still have it in our own hands. Fans will play a massive part if its to happen

Last night definitely gave our chances a little bit of a boost. Cambridge and Oxford have brutally hard fixtures this weekend with Plymouth away and Barnsley away respectively. If there are no shocks in those games and we manage a win against Charlton, things get very tight.

Oxford are an interesting one. They've started to pick up draws recently and their stats/chances created numbers are improving quite a lot. Just a matter of whether their improved performances can overcome that record of not having won since January. Barnsley away a horrid fixture, Cheltenham a tough nut to crack, but FGR very winnable. Bizarrely, it could well come down to needing Accrington to do us a favour on the final day!

Cambridge are a bit of a concern with their fixtures after Plymouth. However, Burton away could well be a very tough one - their form at the Pirelli has been excellent of late. Really, all these fixtures between Cambridge/Accrington/Oxford we could do with being draws. If teams keep drawing and we keep winning, we'll catch them.

Possible that MK might slip a little, but I've got half an eye on Port Vale. Only really need a point to be out of our reach due to GD, but they're in a bit of a sticky situation currently on a terrible run of form and having just gotten rid of Darrell Clarke. If they manage to lose their next couple and we win ours (which we kind of have to do regardless), they've got Plymouth visiting on the final day very possibly needing a win to seal promotion. Could be interesting.

Must admit, I'd stopped looking as high as Port Vale, but you are right, they may be one to catch, as they are in a mess and have potentially tough fixtures. We must win all three of our games, which, in itself is a really tough ask, looking for two away wins in two, when we've had one from the previous twenty-one, but, if we can do it, then I think we'd pass two sides. At the moment, I'd simply be pleased if it goes down to the last game!

Add to that, Charlton gave us a bit of a footballing lesson only a month ago.
It won't be any easier at their place.

Being realistic, we have to win all our games, therefore if Accy win all theirs, as long as they don't do better goal difference-wise than us, we stay above them, and that's fewer points for Cambridge and Oxford. As for staying up at the expense of Port Vale, if that happens don't go in The Crossing at Hest Bank wearing a Morecambe shirt ;) .
