Burton did their part of our job, but we've failed in our own part.

We give the ball away time after time. Never looked like we would get anything. Our goal came from an error by their defence. Other than that, not a lot to offer.
Stockton scores again. If only he had played 'the game' all season.

That's it

Probably Stockton's last touch as a Morecambe player, is to score a nice consolation goal.

Frustrating that Burton drew, so it was all in our own hands.

Ah well, League One has been a great adventure, now we plan for League Two. I wonder what the news is? You'd think if it is 'good news', it would have been announced before this game, to give everyone a lift?

So close

If we get a transfer embargo then we are in big trouble

Most of the squad will be leaving as well

You've got the wrong end of the stick.

It won't be about embargos on signing players.

"Embargoed News" is news that for legal or other reasons is only announced at an agreed date and time.

It was mentioned during the iFollow commentary, that it will be in the podcast, coming out tomorrow lunchtime, due to some news that is embargoed until then.

No use guessing what the news may be but, as said above, if it was good news you would expect it to have come out before today's game. Bad news would be held back.

I doubt that. If Blackpool want to get back in the Championship then you sign Championship standard players to do that.

I'll be sorry if Derek goes but I don't blame him. He's had a rough ride.
The news I want is on the ownership question.

I also thought that. In his last few post match interviews he has referred to problems behind the scenes holding us/him back. Wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to get to the seasons end then abandon ship. Prior to the last game wouldn't have been the best timing, but I guess tomorrow might be.

He is like marmite to the fans, they either love him or hate him. Personally I love him. He was like a breath of fresh air when he came in and transformed us to a competitive team again after years of dross.

Ah well we shall see tomorrow.

Derek leaving wouldn't be a shock, but also, with him out of contract, there wouldn't need to be an embargo on the news, it could just be announced.

The ownership issue may be something that would be embargoed until all parties are ready to speak? If the EFL/FA have finally made a decision, then it is a good thing, either way. Either the EFL/FA have concluded Johal is not a 'fit & proper person', and the sale is off, which would be good, because they'd done due diligence and stopped a dodgy person buying the club, or, they concluded he legitimately has the cash, and is a 'fit & proper person', in which case, it is good news because they'd done due diligence and concluded, he's a decent person to own the club.

Or, it is something else?

I suspect there's been a legal order to keep the outcome of the fit and proper test out of the public ears whilst an appeal was made. It sounds like this appeal has now concluded. Things should be clearer after today.

Dave Salmon has confirmed that the ‘embargoed news’ is just the outcome of the player of the season vote - nothing more.

Taking "I know something you don't" to new levels. He could just as easily said "the podcast will also reference the Player of the Season so it can't be released until after the club have announced it".

And we all know it is Ripley anyway!

There will have to be some announcements fairly soon.

Technically we have no manager with Derek out of contract although it probably runs until 30th June like players contracts. I think Derek said the players are in today presumably to hear about offers , players released etc etc.

Have to be honest and say that for me we didn't exactly play on the day like a team hunting for victory but 6 weeks ago it looked like it was all over so credit to the management and team for putting in a superb rear guard action to put us at least in contention for staying in EFL1.

But it was our abysmal away form that has seen us relegated BUT we will come back stronger and certainly wiser next season.
