So it's EFL2

So it's EFL2

There are not that many (if any) clubs in EFL2 who we may face next season that can come anywhere near to the financial resources of EFL1 clubs we've done battle with over the last 2 seasons.

Clubs such as Ipswich, Shef Wed, Bolton, Derby, Charlton, Plymouth, Peterborough, Portsmouth even Fleetwood have got huge playing budgets far above those (I suspect) in EFL2 so the great divide that we have had to compete against in terms of pulling power to attract players of EFL1 standard has been huge and well beyond our limited financial means.

Yes there will always be clubs who have a greater financial pulling power in EFL2 but NOT of the calibre that we have faced week in and week out. So I'm more than confident that we can attract quality players that as a collective will be able to compete for a promotion push.

It isn't going to be easy but with the right man in charge (DA :?: ) and the mess of the takeover resolved as a matter of urgency (assuming that all the EFL requirements have been answered positively) then season 23/24 could see us back in the hunt for promotion and not one of continued survival.

Trouble is that we'll still be a low budget L2 team, like we always used to be. Attendances (both home and visiting teams) will drop again. And unless there are redundancies, we now have a much bigger "off pitch" staff/management wages bill to cover. Don't forget that there are teams in L2 (and below) with a higher player budget than we had in L1!

Agree Ken as I wrote but NOT to the same extent as those in EFL1.

Average EFL1 salary is circa £7K a week.

Not many in EFL2 earn that...

Commiserations dudes, was hoping you'd stay up so we could meet next season in L1 and be reminded of our massiveness

Though giving our current showing we really will have to fluke the playoffs to miss you in L2 :?
