So what now

So the fact that it was mentioned continually during the broadcast as if it was big news?
Fair enough, it wasn’t though was it.
Sardines Player of the year is just as if not more important as it’s the fans that go home and away every week voting for it.
Just saying, not arguing they don’t do what they do very well btw.

Sorry, what a self aggrandising pile of tripe!

Really not that deep, was made very clear within a couple of hours of airing that the 'embargoed news' was just the player of the season award. They've done a cracking job!

So who was still listening to iplayer "a couple of hours" after it was said considering the game had ended by then? Not everyone follows twatter and facecloth!

I think it was in VERY bad form to make that kind of announcement at a time when so much important stuff is up in the air, such as the manager, ownership, etc. They're supposed to be professionals and should take more care in what they say in an official capacity.

Jensen Weir has just said goodbye on Twitter.

No shock and he will be going much higher in the future.

All of this makes me wonder ...... Do we have any professional staff (other than the players and linked staff).
This "announcement" appears to have been a total shambles - embarrassing.
WHAT IS GOING ON BEHIND THE SCENES .......... and does anybody there understand just what .Morecambe FC is all about?

Now we have been relegated I wonder what happens to the admin jobs we seem to have created over the past couple of seasons? Money seemed desperately short this season and so will be even shorter in League 2. A priority must be to prioritise finance for players if we are not to plunge headlong into non- league once more.

yes, like Aldi’s own brand Hobnobs are better than McVities Hobnobs, and some random towers in the distance look like the ones off Lord of the Rings

 That’s a fair cop Andy. Though sadly, not even Dave S can mention Saroman the Wise’s tower next season as that was the Otis Lift test tower just behind Northamptons Sixfields.

I’ll get me coat…. :D

No players offered a new contract. Very concerning.

some statement, sounds like Derek Adams is having a say in the matter and maybe extending his stay with us?

sorry Gibson and Ripley are leaving.

That aged well!

I think we all thought that, yet not a single player has been offered a new contract?

Stockton, Ripley, Crowley we know don’t want to stay or drop down to L2, and will probably get better deals elsewhere.

so Hunter, Da Silva, Gnahoua, Niasse,, Obika, Smith, Souare, Duffus are we really that fussed about?

i’m just surprised about Gibson, and you could argue Delaney shown good form this season and Cooney(who i like) as just fallen out of favour for what ever reason with Adams.

I doubt whether Derek had any say in the matter and I really don't think he'll be staying. This sounds more like the Board saying we have no money and we can't offer any new contracts without money. Do you really think that Derek would not be offering Ripley a contract if he could?

I imagine with the sale of the club still ongoing there's nobody to say yes offer contracts. Outgoing owner won't want to commit to anything and the prospective new owner can't! Betwixt and between

Would the [immediate] situation have been that much different had Morecambe managed to have stayed up yesterday?

It would be good if a board member would confirm that. As it stands, the silence from them is incredibly harmful, not least that people won't buy season tickets when they don't know if we'll even have a club or manage to fill the bench when the season starts.

I can only think the Board are doing this to force Jason to sell at a lower price, maybe to someone other than Sarbjot!

I thought that, but we have to pay released players contracts, in which case, we may as well have waited to see what happens over the next few weeks?

This is a very good question. We could have been on cloud 9 yesterday only to find ourselves in the same situation today.

I don't know if it is feasible but would a protest march from the Mazuma to Morecambe Town Hall to present the local MP with a letter of complaint from the Trust have an impact? Surely the negative publicity would have an impact on the current club owner and gain more bad publicity for him. I just feel as fans we should be doing something to save our club from an owner who doesn't seem to care.

As mentioned a few weeks ago, the first thing everyone should do is join the Shrimps Trust. These are exactly the circumstances it was set up for!

Yesterday was the start of what could be our darkest ever times. Do not be fooled. This wasn't Derek releasing players or players wanting to leave, this was our club being unable to function. That prick JW has his boot on the clubs throat and we will just vanish if he doesn't get his way.
