so doing this makes the EFL wake up and make a decision quickly, if Sarbjot as paid wages for the past few months, then thats good enough, beggars cant be choosers.

I have found myself thinking if Sarb getting the club means keeping Derek and short term stability, let him have the club. I don't want Sarb involved, there are too many holes and the EFL clearly seem to think he hasnt provided enough evidence showing that he is fit and proper. What are the options?

JW has backed us in to a corner and is slowly shutting the club down although that has been ramped up today. What good is a football club that can't sign a player or pay it's staff? Make no mistake, we are fighting for survival here.

I think we need to get some more media coverage of our issues at the moment we are going under the radar. Bit of publicity and Jason getting even more bad press might shake him up a bit it might also kick the EFL into action and get them to make a decision one way or the other. They are already worried about the government bringing in a regulator.

If we can't provide evidence that we have the finances for a full season in League 2, the EFL will not allow us to enter. The National League will be the same if not worse. Who remembers what happened to Bury?

Fair shout. Jason himself seems immune from outside pressure because he doesn’t care about the club or what anyone thinks about him. The EFL are the party to pressure, who could affect things for the better.

My thoughts exactly. In fact I am shocked how little genuine coverage our takeover has had. Lazy journalists too busy lapping up the non story that is Wrexham winning the conference due to millions being pumped in and copying and pasting false news about Tyson Fury missing out to a soft drinks tycoon.

The thing I don't understand is, why now? Why announce this today? Presumably, we still have to pay players until July, when contracts actually run out, so why not wait a month, to see if anything changes? Financially, at worst, we'd be in exactly the same position, or if something happens over the ownership, we could be in a much healthier one, and able to offer contracts.

The timing is 'odd', unless it is somehow putting pressure on the EFL?

If this continues, could everyone who bought a replica top, please report for training in August...

If news of EFL turning down Sarbjot is coming out very soon they are giving the players released more time to find a club? If there is no money to pay the next lot of wages? What about the rest of club staff?
So many questions!

Am I understanding the situation correctly but DA sounds as though he is staying with us for next season or is that just wishful thinking on my part.... :?: :?: :?:

IF DA stays then all credit to him. He has my total respect if that is true.

I understand that players need to be informed within 72 hours of the final game of a season about their position with their club going forward.

In the article with the Guardian Derek says the EFL need the list 7 days from the season ending.

Taken from the Barrow forum where there is a majority sorry to see us relegated but also looking forward to playing both ourselves and Accrington.

Quite possible that they have got it wrong in light of what DA has said.

I'm finding it difficult to understand why the silence from within the club especially from Rod who is usually the one to make some kind of statement. Surely the fans deserve some update....or am I expecting too much.... :( :?:

But we could have offered Andre Da Silva Mendes a fiver a week more than the peanuts he would have been on already, and then we'd either have a keeper in whatever league we get thrown in to, or a back-up keeper, or, received compensation if someone else wants him, due to his age. By all accounts, he's developing well, so better than nothing? If the club sale goes through, and we have a decent budget for two first team quality keepers, then he goes on loan for another season of development?

My concern is, we're not even planning for League Two next season.

Maybe some players have been given assurances that if and when the sale is completed that they will be offered contracts....in the meantime if they find another club then so be it... :?: :?: :?:

IF some former players were given an option to renew their time with the club now that we are to believe that DA has a budget to work to who should we consider for the coming season... :?: :?: :?:

For me the following along with those already under contract could make the basis of a good EFL2 squad :

Gibson; Crowley; Hunter; Da Silva Mendes: Niasse and Souare plus obviously Cole but I think he could be looking at EFL1 clubs or even closer to home...Bolton... :?: :?: :?:

With a good pre season to recover his match fitness I think that Niasse could be a very useful signing if only on a short term 6 month contract to see how he shapes up, however I suspect others would totally disagree.

realistically Gibson and Delaney should be easy to persuade to sign on with us with life in L2.

keep the back line together, they already have an understanding.

Yes...an understanding of how to let in a ridiculous number of goals that contributed in no small measure to our relegation.

Needs some serious work doing in that area....

give over, L2 is a big drop in standard of Football from L1.

and Jaden Bedeau and Gibson were part of our promotion team and you could argue Rawson and Delaney have more experience than Sam Lavelle who's not doing very well now.

It could be (I don't know for sure) that our 6 retained players are on L1 wages and together take up nearly half the L2 playing budget. We may need to sell either Bedeau or Mayor, or pay to release either or both full backs to get a balanced squad.

I hope I'm wrong because the 6 we have are a very strong start to a season in L2

I would be surprised if Bedeau is still here in August. As you say he will be on EFL 1 wages and if Robinson comes back with a 6 figure cheque that will be snatched and hopefully the cheque is added to the budget.

Not sure whether they will have given a 17 year old EFL 1 wages so I hope he stays.

I read somewhere that some players at our level who are on 2 year contracts have it written into their contract that in the event of relegation at the end of their first season that their salary could be reduced by in the region of 20%. Now there is no way to tell if that applies to our 2 year contracted players but it does happen at other clubs and could well apply to our players as well.

On a different subject I seem to think that there is a relegation payment made by the league to assist clubs in maintaining their higher wage bill if appropriate in the event of relegation.
