Yup. Shrimps Trust meeting at a neutral venue, as advised, then, if there are issues raised that the board wish to respond to, and further update us, they can call a meeting at The Mazuma. We need to get some movement from our position, as fans.

Hodgie, as someone who can't be there, will it be videoed or live-streamed? Also, will there be an agenda published and any way to ask questions or make suggestions, that can be responded to on the evening?

If I'm honest these suggestions are just not true .... we'll battle on together

The Supporters Federation rep probably thinks we have directors like Bury though.

Surely the local directors and fans are all batting for the same team so to speak and it would have been informative if a director and maybe Derek could have addressed the meeting which doesn't seem likely if it is at The Exchange.

Also now the season is over would a Saturday afternoon or evening allowed more people to attend and to get signed up to the Trust ?

This meeting could be the first step in a line of meetings. We do need to get together as fans before we meet officially with the club IMO.

An open meeting with the Board could just turn in to a lot of noise at this point.

The important thing is the meeting is taking place, not where it is held.

As much as I wanted to be at the meeting a serious family issue concerning my mother in law means that I will be unable to attend.

Hopefully some kind of report of the meeting will be issued.

Can't wait for the next Trust agm as we've struggled in recent years for trustees but suddenly everyone has suggestions what we should do.

Fair comment this. I only signed up with the trust last week as I felt it's influence on the club and supporters had wained since it's inception. However, I applaud the actions taken this week and hope more people join up now

With respect to Rod, I don’t see why the venue is such a big deal. Unless the board are offering to attend and answer questions, I don’t see on what basis they are asking for it to be held at the club. A bit of a non-issue as far as I’m concerned.

I think it was a view to bringing some income to the club, instead of a local pub. When every penny counts, I can understand that point of view. I don't know, but I expect some of the board are also Trust members.

I say hold it at the club. We just need assurances that any money put into the club will help keep it afloat. If we get this from the end of the meeting, then I'd expect season ticket sales to take off.

Surely it's better to act as one in unity with the BoD rather than create some kind of divide. After all this is
OUR club run on our behalf by an excellent BoD.

I'm unsure why the opinion of a Supporters Federation has to be acted upon after all our situation is ours to resolve collectively and stand united with the BoD against Jason and co.

I feel that the meeting should be at OUR club and any money spent on the night should go into club funds

Again the important thing is that the meeting is taking place, not its venue.
Maybe if the club had given some kind of statement following the widespread panic that swept through social media following their retained list statement, or following the Trusts Open Letter, than none of this would be needed.

The radio silence from the club is deafening and we should be thankful that the Trust, in their own time, have organised a venue and time for this meeting.

If the venue really is a deal breaker for anyone, then please feel free not to attend. Some of the whinging on social media over the weekend is simply pathetic, given the bigger picture of the problems we face.

The meeting is where it is and I for one thank the Trust for putting it on.

Baffled by the bickering over the venue. Don't really care whether it's at the club or somewhere else, the most important thing is that it's happening. Things like the venue are pretty irrelevant and reading into it to the extent that some people have done is crazy.

There are lots of things to be angry about at the moment. But this certainly isn't one of them. Directing anger at the Trust over a venue choice seems like utter madness. Focus on the real issues please.

Agree, Littleshrimp. Now is the time for us all to pull together to try and save our club. Our anger shouldn’t be directed at the Trust or the Board.

Correct guys
There seems to be more anger aimed at the Trust for having the meeting than we had aimed at Jason.
Let's come together and show a united front .

As you would expect several key questions from the Doc. I would like tomorrow's meeting to also draw up plans for fans action. Our club is teetering on the brink of collapse and we need to do all we can to help it survive. I would like the Trust to organise a protest march from the Mazuma to Morecambe Town Hall to present a letter to the local MP. I also think we should contact the Sports Minister and also Robin Walker one of the Worcester MPs involved in Worcester Rugby club fiasco with the Bond Group. We should contact BBC Look North and Granada Reports to publicise our plight. Time is running out and we have to do everything to help our club to avoid us following the likes of Bury into liquidation. The time for action is now!

Some excellent points Mr F.

I would also like the Shrimps Trust to examine and make us all aware of the Christie Trust, and what it would mean in a 'worst case scenario'. For example, while we know the Christie Trust owns the land, and Bond own the buildings, in that worst case scenario, would a phoenix club have access to the pitch? Would fans be allowed to use the terraces, or do they count as 'buildings'? The 'Berlin Wall' could probably be classed as 'land', but the areas with a roof may not be? Bond could probably lock the gates and not allow access to the pitch, what then?

I think if we have a rough plan for a worst case scenario, we can build from there. We could well have a ground with infrastructure that is left to decay and a pitch that legally belongs to 'us', but is inaccessible.

I really hope there is a good turn out for the meeting tomorrow. I can't be there myself due to geography, but anyone reading this, who is in the Morecambe area, please support the Trust and turn out.

Later today, I will merge this thread with the existing 'Trust' thread, so we can keep everything in one place.

I have sent a "tweet" to Richard Askam who does the North West Sport on BBC local news asking him to do a feature on Morecambe FC's problems with their owner.
