No sympathy from me......he shafted the printing firm I was Marketing Development Manager for way back in the late 90's /early 2000's just as he was getting involved with Fleetwood.

One of the most arrogant and self opinionated clients i ever had the misfortune to have brought on board to my company.

Thankfully my MD was more than a match for him and eventually got the better of him.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.....

If he does time I don't think it will harm Fleetwood.

He will probably transfer his shares either to a relative maybe his son or put them into a trust while he is at his majesty's pleasure. As long as someone can sign cheques it should mean Fleetwood are not in trouble. Whether the EFL can now say he is not a fit and proper person once he has been accepted I am not sure.

He has been convicted of some very serious charges following an 8 month trial. He must be looking at a stiff prison sentence along with his cronies who have also been convicted.

Many people have been defrauded over a number of years and I wouldn't be surprised if the authorities now go after him under the Proceeds of Crime Act. He's made a lot of money from dodgy dealings and they will no doubt view him as a worthwhile target to recover his ill gotten gains. This could potentially be the ruin of him.

Yes, they probably will, but proceeds of crime recovery usually takes years, so he won't have to pay anything back any time soon. The "immediate" issue for him will be that his assets may be frozen once proceeds of crime court cases start, but if the football club is sustainable without him pumping money it, it shouldn't affect the club at all. It'll only be years down the line when he has to repay monies that he may have to sell the club to raise funds, unless he has other assets that could be sold to clear the amount demanded, such as properties, cars, investments, etc.

I think Pilley personally owns Poole Farm which Fleetwood use for training. It isn't owned by Fleetwood Town FC.

My shop electricity is supplied by BES, they were the existing supplier when I leased it, I have to say I've had no problems with them, and my bills are very cheap, as for Fleetwood town , despite his terrible reputation their fans and staff have had a lot to thank him for, compared to the stuff served up by our owners.

Nope, I couldn't be "thankful" for an owner who pumped "dirty" money into Morecambe, whatever the results/benefits. Success on the back of fraud/theft or any other illegality isn't acceptable in any form.

Someone should give one C. Stockton and his "agent" and point out that his amazing big money move would have been from a man that literally defrauded Childrens Charities!

Will be interesting to see what the EFL have to say about their 'fit and proper' ruling in this case.

Don't be surprised if they have no problem with Pilley despite him 'facing prison'....

My understanding is that he is well connected at EFL HQ and may well be on their Board but that is not confirmed.... :?: :?: :?:

There were some figures on twitter about weekly wage bills for players in EFL 1

It gave Fleetwood's weekly playing budget as £71,000. Can't see that being replicated if the chairman goes down.

Yes, £3.7M, currently we will probably be scraping the .7

Interesting that Pilley resigned from the Fleetwood Wanderers Limited board a couple of days ago and 2 new directors were appointed both called Pilley and presumably his children. They both resigned as directors the day after so maybe the EFL quickly told them that connected people would not be fit and proper.

The Fleetwood balance sheet is a horror comic with some some shocking figures. Their last 2 years have shown losses of £1,661,672 in 21/22 and £2,921,299 in 20/21.

Very strange times on the Fylde Coast !

Fleetwood are now up for sale just like us.

A great pity we couldn't have finished 4th from the bottom because who knows what will happen at Fleetwood now and there could yet be a reprieve for MK.

Anyone any thoughts on what Mr Pilley and his Co-conspirators will be sentenced to now the whole rotten empire has come crashing to the ground? I predict his sister will get a short custodial because women normally get a slap on the wrists compared to men. 18 months custodial. The other two gents found guilty will get 4 years apiece and the man himself could easily be looking at double figures. 10 years I’ll go for.

Prison it is, then!

The owner of Fleetwood Town football club, Andy Pilley, has been jailed after being found guilty of fraud and money laundering. He was sentenced to 13 years in prison at Preston Crown Court.

Horrible people who destroyed many small businesses with their dodgy illegal practices. What happens to FTFC now after the Proceeds of Crime Act kicks in and assets are seized. I bet Blackpool FC have one eye on Poolfoot Farm. Would make a ready made training base for them.

He deserved a long sentence but this is the sort of stretch that a murdering rapist would get, our courts are out of touch with reality.
