Assuming Derek wants at least 22 players, I can see him settling for say 16 genuine first teamers plus youth.
Personally I would prefer this and getting a good spine of the team with the mobey we have.
It's a gamble if we end up with injuries

I thought that when I saw about the 4 academy players in the first team squad. If we have any more like Mayor then that would be great.

I think The King will go for 18 genuine first teamers and the 4 academy players so he has 2 players for each position which is what he likes.

If we still have the 6 contracted players , Bedeau , Taylor , Mayor , Love , Melbourne and Rawson when we start the new season that is a pretty good nucleus to which to add another 12 signings (2 of which will be goalkeepers). My worry is that Judas will come back for Bedeau and a club like PNE will sign Mayor for a small fee like they did with Barky.

Barkhuizen situation was entirely different. We were close to going out of business. In fact, PNE did us a favour, if we'd not paid wages, players could have left for free. Mayor will command a decent fee, with sell on's etcetera.

So how did that work out then?

I do realise that. My worry is if its looking grim on cash flow is it Del and Rodders who have the say-so on whether a bid is acceptable ?

I don't think so. They do not have a position on the board of directors. From what Rod said regarding season tickets, they are unable to take cash out of the club, therefore forcing a player sale would (in my opinion) not be possible for the same reasons.

I don't agree Keith. Yes the income can be protected but not the asset, ie a player, just like the board have no say in who the club is sold to and how much.. In my opinion of course.
The Board would be informed no doubt and if not in agreement could be sacked anyway

Since Jason and Colin aren’t on the BoD I’d assume they don’t have much say in that regard. All they’ve done is given the board a budget and now they can spend it where they see fit. If a transfer fee flows into the club it may be distributed to different areas but it’ll be the board who decides where it goes. Unless, of course, the owners can dissuade this.
