Congratulations to Hannah Dingley

Congratulations to Hannah Dingley

Postby Zip It Shrimpy » Wed Jul 05, 2023 9:15 am

Finally, we see a woman head coach appointed in mens' English football. Welcome to the 21st Century.

My respect for the business values of Forest Green Rovers continues to grow. My biggest hope for our club is that we get an owner with a moral compass like Dale Vince.

I've no idea if she's any good but hope it works out for them and they take points off all our rivals.

I hope it's not just a headline grabbing gimmick. Lets see if she is still in charge at the start of the season.

If the board have that much faith, why would they only make her an interim manager and not give her the role full time?

It's a step in the right direction though.

The timing is strange will she have a say in any summer signings.

Good luck to her but I have doubts how it will turn out. Has she got good coaches and assistants , that may make this work.

Key to how it will work is how the players react to being coached by a woman. I wish her the best of luck, and may it lead to long-term change.

Forgot to add, we'll know it's a success when it's no longer a talking point.

Its crazy that its taken this long to happen. Good luck to her and fair play to FGR for giving her the break.

I hope she's a great success and wish her all the best... ...unless we find ourselves in a relegation battle, in which case, I hope she's a complete failure, from which FGR don't recover and they finish below us! 8-)

So how did that work out then?

That didn't last long. Headline grabbing?

Exactly , headline grabbing just like when he hired Drunken Disorderly.

Sacking 2 managers in the close season is unusual to say the least.

Was it not an interim position though?

Maybe they should have given her the title "Acting Manager" which everyone including her would know that she was acting as the manager until a permanent one was appointed.

Interim Manager gives the impression that there may have been some matches to actually manage.
