O/T Fancy a slice of me.....

O/T Fancy a slice of me.....

This is without doubt the most obnoxious subject I've ever posted on SVs.....you have been warned..

Did anybody watch the Channel4 programme 'Greg Wallace: The British Miracle Meat' last night where it showed how a company is paying individuals to donate a piece of their skin so that it can be engineered into meat for human consumption..... :?: :?: :?:

Those who are donating pieces of their skin are paid around £200 for their skin which many are using to pay for energy or general living costs.

Greg took a sample of the engineered meat to Michel Roux's Mayfair restaurant Le Gavroche for it to be taste tested and Michel was enthusiastic in its taste and how tender it was when cooked in the way that normal animal meat is cooked for human consumption.

I for one am disgusted that the authorities have allowed such a practice as it is now available on certain supermarket shelves.

I some how can't imagine anybody wanting a slice of me :o or for that matter a slice of anybody BUT if a public tasting is anything to go by the engineered human meat may become an acceptable item in certain restaurants under the disguise of 'normal meat'.......

:o :o :o

Funny ....... I was in a restaurant last night and looking at a plate of food. "Is that veal" I asked, and the waiter replied " no .... it's Neil"

And therein, lies the problem. Too many people haven't realised it was a spoof. It wasn't 'funny'. It was pre-watershed, advertised as a “documentary”, and directly after a real, 'food' programme. On the run-up, it appeared to be a genuine break-through in developing food, which is why we watched it. When they mentioned it was from human tissue, we thought it was 'odd', and it was only when they introduced children that we finally decided for sure, that it was a spoof.

'Brass Eye' was excellent, but that was because the viewers were in on the joke, but here, the 'joke' was on the people who didn't 'get it'.
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?

Don't be too embarrassed RR, I remember Ghostwatch caught me out years ago. Love to see that again to see how good it was in hindsight.
