Re-signing a player we released several years ago reflects the difficulties we have faced in player recruitment. We shall see later in the season whether my worries about us were pessimistic or whether your confidence in the squad was misplaced. I think we both appreciate the work of our manager and his continued presence gives me some hope that all will be okay!

What optimism? All I've said is that it's an overreaction to be going on about relegation when we've played three games and performed well in two of them. Mansfield was a poor performance, and a big reason for that was a tactical one. It's just looking at things rationally rather getting into a big panic.

So the Mansfield result was as a result of a tactical mistake was it Little Shrimp? What about Mansfield being a decent side able to create good chances? What about several of our players being poor?

Starting to think a few protest banners might not be a bad idea. If nothing else it will shift the narrative and potentially get the national media focusing on Jason and his link to Worcester Warriors.

Hopefully we'll get the chance to discuss protest banners at the forthcoming Trust Meeting. I do think we need to do something!

I'm not convinced that protest banners would make one jot of difference to the current ownership. I get that we are all frustrated about the lack of developments and little or no updates about the
current situation. All we can do is feed off the snippets we do get and draw our own conclusions from them, although we may be well wide of the mark.

The only information we have currently is that the directors are refusing to be drawn on any updates regarding progress. Does this mean that something is happening which they won't comment on, or does it mean there is absolutely nothing happening so there is no point talking about it???

Another snippet from Dereks latest interview (above) is that he spoke to the owner pre season and was assured that he was doing his best to move the sale forward with a view to both his own benefit and that of the club. Vague to say the least but that's about as good as it gets.

If it gets to the point where we feel direct action is required then a boycott of matches may be more effective than banners. Not saying we're anywhere near that yet but in recent times it worked for Blackpool and Oldham. Drastic thought I know but hitting an owner in the pocket is one way to focus their attention.

Boycotting matches is the last thing we should do.

I'm all for looking at all ideas, but where would you situate the banners Wild B ? Simply curious !

Am I right in saying that gate receipts/season ticket money does NOT go to the owner ??

I'm sure I read either Rod or Graham advise us of this in the summer? I could stand to be corrected of course.

Boycotting matches would end up as a Pyrrhic victory.

Administration would get rid of Jason but a phoenix club starting in the NW Counties would be the price.

I think he's within his rights to do this but it would have to be signed off by the board. Also, as mentioned by the Trust, it really wouldn't be in his interest to do this as the real money is in a sale and taking small amounts out would devalue the club and potentially jepodise our FL status.

Just a pity that the bulk of fans didn't know that Jason was at the game to give him a reception he and Bond Group deserves.

Loved to know why he was at the Mazuma...live in hope that he was here to discuss / inform the club of a planned takeover from a new potential buyer.

No harm in hoping and praying it will come to pass.....eventually. :o :o :o

He still officially owns the club so he has every right to come to games when he wants

It's a long way from Essex on a Tuesday night, to watch a team he doesn't support, in a game he doesn't care about. Let's hope there was a meeting with someone who does care about our club's future that made his visit worthwhile.

I'm not a fan of protests at a match. We have a very young squad who need positive support during games, not negative distractions. I do think a protest march through the town may be useful as that would raise publicity, especially with the links to Worcester Warriors and how they were deliberately destroyed. That leads to pressure on politicians and the EFL. While neither can do anything directly, they can look at (for example) why it took nearly a year and they've still not ruled out a [then] teenager with no money, and no evidence, buying the club.

Zip It Shrimpy wrote:My motivation is to find a way to increase fan ownership of the club with a view to getting Jason out that way. I'd bust a gut to get that moving if others share this view forward.

At the moment, I'd hate to see a 'fan ownership' because it would mean we were in administration and, at best facing a points deduction and certain relegation once more. Even then, we probably couldn't afford to buy the club. As it currently stands, we'd probably need to raise about £7.5 million to buy the club and finance a reasonable, consolidating season in League Two. If the club goes bust, then fan ownership is realistic, but we'd be a phoenix club, with the best ground in the North West Counties.

Our best hope of a 'fans ownership' is Red Robbo's hopes of a local consortium of businessmen who actually support the club, but who knows if they currently exist?

I think the owners appearance last night at the game was a bit of light at the end of a very long tunnel.

He was with Graham and presumably there was some reason for his visit other than to enjoy another good performance by The Shrimps.

We are still recruiting , advert today for a Finance Assistant etc so no cutting back in that area which may mean something happening ownership-wise.

I'm not letting myself read too much into his appearance, after so many disappointments, but I hope you are correct and we may be entering the end of this farce.

I did say a bit of light at the end of a long tunnel , let's hope it's not a train coming !

He must have come for a reason and he knew there would be hostility so let's hope the end of the farce is in sight.

Not sure if Rod is ill or away on holiday but he didn't appear to be at the game last night and left Graham to accompany Jason. Both were laughing on the terrace in front of the dining suite pre match and i was tempted to pass a comment that both would have heard but thought better of it despite being encouraged to do so by a fellow fan and his wife..... ;) ;) ;)

He was at the game for some reason so we can only live in hope that it was to discuss ( :?: ) or inform the club of a potential development in the sale of OUR club... :?: :?: :?:

He was there last night to discuss the whole club finances as I understand it, both on and off the field. After all, he is the owner and has every right to attend. At least they organised it coincide with a game.
As for any interest, it’s certainly not Sarbjot as we all know, but he got three quarters of a season of schmoozing in the directors lounge for his investment.
No sale on the horizon as yet. But doesn’t look like we are in any imminent danger of an off field disaster. But I could be wrong.
Looking at the first two crowds, 4600 and 3860 is encouraging, so at least money is coming in??

I think plenty of fans knew Jason was there on Tuesday night, pictures circulating throughout the terraces. Would have been easy to get a chant going, but I imagine the trust will discuss it at their next meeting! :o
