Good luck Jimbo. Probably a good place for him to rebuild his managerial career at.

Have Southport sacked their manager. Not sure who it was.

I thought they looked a poor team when we beat them 3-1 in the pre-season friendly.

A handy gig for Jim with it being close to home.

Any mention of Kenny as his assistant ?

I live just outside Scouseport, and don't even know where their ground is. Perhaps I'll need to make an effort shortly.

I wonder if Mark shore has sent his congratulations !! He had a spat with Jim's wife after he left Morecambe and he even called her Colleen Rooney !

Pleased that Jimbo has got himself back into football management and hope that this is a more than a happy time for him.

Watched the interview and it's obvious what Morecambe means to him even after all this time. He obviously 'loves' our club and doesn't seem too bitter about the way his leaving developed.

Would have liked to have seen him and Kevin together once again but unlikely to happen.

Will be watching his progression over the coming season.

:D :D :D

Good luck to him. I really hope Jim's a success and can take Southport up the table.

Quite funny, reading their forum. Some of their fans appear to think they are still our rivals

I wonder if he'll look to any of our youngsters to take on loan? I suppose we've not got the depth in squad to even let our two new academy lads go anywhere, but if there are any more who are on the cusp of a pro-contract, it may be worth them going out and getting 'real' games?

Two wins from two.

I had a read of their forum. When Jim was appointed, there were 'port fans who weren't happy, because of Jim's Morecambe record, and he mentioned his love of us, in his interview. They still think they are our rivals!   When did we last play Southport (or Lancaster) competitively? Bless 'em!

As far as I can see, this is the last time we finished below both Southport and Lancaster in a season.

In fact that looks like the last time Lancaster finished above us. 40+ years now.

That was the season of the infamous Morecambe 0 Bangor City 9. Can you imagine Facebook or Shrimpsvoices if they had existed at that time !!

EXCUSE ME!!!

7-1 if you don't mind!

It wasn't easy, being a Morecambe fan at Morecambe High School back then. I was in the same class as Sean Gallagher (Lancaster's manager) which didn't help!

That Bangor match, everything they hit went in, some of their goals were superb.

it was a shame the Lawrie Milligan goal he fired in from over 30 yards was given as offside as one of our forwards was in an offside position!! It would've counted these days and it was 0-0 at the time! one of the best goals he never scored :D

Delighted to see Jimbo back with a smile on his face.

Maybe the pressure of being a full time EFL manager was a bit too soon.

Just hope he can keep it all up.....FA Cup next week.

Wouldn't surprise me if they got to the first round to play..... :?: :?: :?: ;) ;) ;)

Southport and city will always be our rivals along with Barrow and Accy.

Fair play to Jim. Early days, but it would be nice to see him have some success at another club.
