Is there actually an 'obstruction' law in football anymore?

Bright opening by us, but with no clear chances.

We started well for the first ten minutes, but very equal from then on. Bloxham blasted well over when in a decent position and McKiernan had a shot well blocked. At the other end, a stinging shot but straight at Moore. We then got a break. I thought their defender had his ankle tapped, as did he. The ref thought it was just a slip and play went on. Nice cross from Mayor, with a deft touch by Mellon to beat their keeper at his near post.

Bloxham (I think) with a shot just wide, since we scored.

Could do with another before half time.

Fifty:fifty challenge, free-kick given to their defender. Last week, fifty:fifty given to the attack, and a red card. Apparently these things balance out?

Getting a bit scrappy now. Something happened off the ball that had the crowd calling "OFF, OFF, OFF," but I didn't see it clearly.

50:50 at the the other end, given to Bedeau. Like what normally happens. Perhaps Harrogate's ref was trying to set a new trend?

Anyway... Scrappy for a lot of the half but we've created more than Salford and deservedly lead. More shots on target in the first 45 minutes, than we've had on target in total, away from home.

Listening to the away commentary for a change. It is very odd. He's still not thanked me for "choosing to spend some of your weekend with us" and I've got no idea how to Twitter him.

First ten of the second half, we've been on top, but the decision making for the final ball has been poor. Some sloppy passing going on now. We need a second!

Living dangerously now. Salford well on top since they made their substitutions, ten minutes ago. We've barely been out of our own half since.

Even the Salford commentator has said, "yet another questionable free-kick [for Salford]. Morecambe are probably due one".

AGHHHH.... How did Slew not score??? A great save, but Slew should have scored. A little more to the right and the keeper couldn't have reached.

Connolly gets MotM. I think I'd have given it to Songo-o, who has really battled & defended well,

It's all kicking off now! Lund straight red. Love probably should have had a red for pulling their lad's hair. Scrapping in the tunnel now!

Phew!

Excellent three points, and a battling display. Salford probably deserved a point, but we defended really well.

Very good result against a decent Salford team

If we can improve our away form we could be a real threat this season

Only conceded 1 goal at home against Walsall, Notts County, Bradford and Salford (great effort)

Mellon has already put more effort in this season than Stockton did in the whole of last season.

I was going to write that, during the game, but decided I'd made the point about Stockton often enough...

But yes, 100%. The effort Mellon puts in, compared to Sicknote-Striking-Stockton is incredible. He ran himself in to the ground, and got his goal too.

Lund took a swipe at Adam Smith on the way out, handbags at dawn, then Baz took his specs off to get involved.

The Class of 92 was represented in the boxes by Ryan Giggs and Nicky Butt.

I wonder if any of our people asked them them if they knew anyone who is not currently an owner of a football club that would like to buy us.

I said after seeing Mellon's debut last season that he looked like he was an upgrade on Phillips and I stand by the that. His movement is better, he is stronger, a better finisher and better in the air. He was brilliant today against 2 horrible defenders.

Derek seems to have worked his magic again, he has signed 16 players and built a team. Loved all that fighting and sticking up for one another, it was great to see. We have the best manager in the League.

The standard drop from League 1 to 2 is massive and I reckon we will be there or therabouts come the end of the season.

Thought the new lad was immense as well as Mellon who seems to get better with every performance.

If only we could sort our away form out. Surely we should just play the same system as at home.
