Derek post match comments

I thought Dereks comments a bit harsh personally at the end of the game interview
I totally respect the job he’s doing and what’s going on - I respect it’s a tough gig in the circumstances
However to say the players. Only the players are the ones helping him and why he’s doing what he is is a bit harsh on the likes of rod - rod gives his all in his position as I’m sure Graham does to maybe not the same degree !?
But to say no one else personally I don’t think he should get away with that
We all agree the club needs to be sold. The owners are scoundrels but others work very hard I’m sure

Yes, I picked up on that, and thought it was an 'interesting' comment. Perhaps it is simply a 'building the players' comment, and Rod and the rest of the positive people in the background know what he really thinks? There is definitely a positive vibe on the pitch, which is most important.

So how did that work out then?

Personally i totally love how Derek speaks his mind

He is a good manager at this level - We could do much much worse than him

I agree with DA comments but felt it was a little disrespectful to say the players are the only reason he’s here,
Or words to that effect

I thought Derek was spot on with his comments. I'm sure Rod and Co know he wasn't aiming any brickbats at them , just Bond Group.

He praised the fans as well as the players but we could not do better than have the King in charge of us now.

I thought it was a good interview from Derek, he chooses his words carefully. It was a game that we could of won against a team with a much bigger budget, he was just getting that across. You can see that he has a squad of young players that would run through a brick wall for him and he is bigging them up.

Just imagine what he could do for this club with a few quid behind him. He is a top top Manager.

i detect in that interview, a lot of the stick he was getting off certain fans last season in L1, pissed him off and it was out of order.

i'm greatfull to have Derek as our Manager, and can see what he’s trying to do, Derek on paper is probably the most qualified manager in L2 manager with promotions getting into L1, and bollocks to Bradford and the way they treat manager’s no shame in that sacking.

Yeh Derek went a bit further than he normally does, only here for the players!! I think he will reflect on that, he should have made his self a bit more clearer as it won’t go down well with the higher ups. I ask my self why go that far now? He’s right on the support, it’s great to see the numbers that turn up, not too many teams will bing the numbers of away supporters as League one, so I think he does appreciate the Morecambe fans. It’s last year and his frustration at not getting the players in January that would have kept us in League One. Lastly was it an advertisement!!??? Club in a mess, financially at the bottom of the pile, yet look what I as a manager can do. Well if he goes for what ever reason it will be at Morecambe’s cost and I think the majority of fans see that now.

DA is perfectly entitled to his views because they are factually correct. A wee bit of money in January would have seen him bring in some extra quality that could have saved us from relegation.

He has worked a bloody miracle this past close season to assemble a squad that has huge potential.

I think it is a mark of respect by clubs in the Championship and higher that they allow him to take their younger promising players on a season loan because they realize his outstanding ability to develop them into possible future players with their clubs.

I suspect his thoughts are directed 100% at the owner and the lack of investment from his company that is the root cause of his post match comments that nobody will disagree with.

DA is fully aware of the limits placed on the BoD by Jason in particular what appears to have been a gagging order. Thankfully DA is his own man and will speak out as he sees it and long may that continue.

I thought Derek did a good job of promoting the club to potential buyers ,trouble is how many potential buyers would see this interview.

I thought the interview he gave was impassioned and positive, despite it being a bit a rant - if that makes sense. He really does thrive by engendering a siege mentality.

Nothing wrong in that but results will speak far louder than whatever our excellent manager says ....and before anybody accuses me of having altered my thoughts on DA.... they are correct....he's been an excellent manager of our club and is up there in my opinion with the late Ken Waterhouse and Jim Harvey.

DA will do what is right for DA....just as we all would do in life.
