Remember when Bradford sacked Derek when they were 11th in the table and their fans were giving it large about what a better manager Mark Hughes was going to be?

Now here we are, Bradford 18th in the table and Hughes sacked. What a surprise. It’s as if Derek was never the problem.

Bradford have had ten permanent managers in seven years.
Go back ten permanent managers at Morecambe, it takes you to Joe Wojciechowicz's appointment in 1985!

Reading their forum, at no point do their fans consider, perhaps they need to give managers a bit more time and stability, even if that doesn't bring instant success.
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?

10 in 7 years is crazy. They will be forever in League Two if they carry on with that sort of turnover.

Wonder if DA appreciates just how loyal our excellent BoD are and that has made him so enthusiastic about the future and what he can bring to our club going forward.

DA has experienced life in the wilderness once outside of the management game and maybe working for a club like ours does have its benefits... :?: :?: :?:

I think he does and I also think it's made him realise what a great backroom staff he has. I heard a story once that when he first came on a Friday night of an away game in a hotel he would go to his room at 9pm ish and couldn't believe how well our backroom staff new each other stayed up for a beer etc. Eventually he started to understand and said at all the clubs he had been at he had never never seen that relationship between the backroom staff and eventually he would stay and socialize a bit more with them.

I think he when he left he had had some valid issues about our lack of professionalism off the field but a lot of that has been resolved now and it gave us the kick up the backside we needed.

I only ever remember Morecambe having sacked one manager, Jim Harvey. Sacked for being ill. Very happy to be proved wrong.

Bryan Griffiths. VERY controversially sacked in December 1993.

One before that also, Billy Wright (ex Everton and Birmingham City defender) sacked April 1989.

Oh yes, and....... Leighton James sacked for non footballing matters (allegedly) at in the Summer of 1994.

Think we had a different BoD at the time.

Our current BoD are somewhat unique in that they stick with a manager even though there may have been times when it would have been reasonable to make changes.

I somehow think that DA regards himself as being one of the lucky ones to still be in charge following relegation BUT he inherited a squad not of his making. Look at the difference this season with his OWN squad and it could well be that our BoD realised that he had more to offer going forward.

Jimbo was sacked with Fylde at the bottom. Jim now at Southport taking them from league basement to 15th, 2 points from play-offs. Early days yet, but maybe it's not the manager at fault at Fylde.

Jim Bentley replaced Dave Challinor at Fylde which must be one of the biggest balls up by a Chairman ever!
