Genuine question, in what respect please (for someone who wasn't there) - hostile, impatient, too cold to get any atmosphere going ?

BerlinWaller wrote:It was a bright start with some nice moves and a bit of pace to our play for 25mins. I thought we were the better team in the first half but it was a pretty average standard of football from both sides.

The goals we conceded were really sloppy and serious questions have to be asked about Adam Smith. A keeper has to dominate his box at set pieces but Smith seems to panic everytime.

We have a real quality on the wings and Tom had a massive advantage over Shane Mc but we never used him enough. Our best chances came from wide but we just kept lobbing it forward on to Delaneys head, bread and butter. Mayor at left back on Saturday reminded me of Barky at right back and there is a sttong smell of Bentley ball returning.

The atmosphere was horrible, the optimistic talk about promotion has turned in to "lets stick together" in a couple of weeks.

It looks like Ged was the only manager we could afford but can the club afford to go down? We had the best manager in the league and now we have a novice in charge. Ged has great experience and has worked his way up but seems to have been given the job on the basis of a good interview on Radio Lancs. I want it to work, we need it to work but something just doesn't feel right.

The Owner out campaign needs to begin now, Derek papered over the cracks and his leaving has shown is what a mess the club could quickly find itself in again.

Difficult to argue with any of that. We weren't horrible but Newport aren't a great team either, everything feels very wrong at the moment.

An owner out campaign would be great but I just can't see it taking off. I don't think our fan base is big enough to make any kind of ripples in that sense. It would take a monumental effort from a group like the shrimpstrust to get something like that off the ground.

For me the atmosphere was very flat and at times plain quiet.

Double whammy last night, we get our first loss in 10 at home with most possession and Derek gets their first win in 10 with the least possession

All of the above really. Very flat, a bit down and some hostility. Adam Smith shouted back at the fans which isn't great to see and every mistake was met with a jeer. It was like all the hope has been knocked out of us and a bit of realism has sst in.

There were chants at Wrexham about Jason and we need more of the same. It might have little impact but he has got away with murder so far. We need more action and we need it quickly.

Difficult to have an 'owner out' campaign against an owner who wants out. We need a 'new owner in' campaign.

The impression I get is that Jason is sat in an ivory tower hundreds of miles away and we exist only as a line on his balance sheet. If we organised a mass protest he’d barely even be aware of it.

It's the value on the club that stops him from being able to sell the club. He can only make money from loans he gives us so he is after big money to sell us.

With Derek gone and a skint owner who has his hands around our throat, the only way is down.

Exactly this, we're probably pretty lucky the board managed to convince him it was in his best interest to give us the tiny budget we ended up with. He was willing to completely look the other way and have us run on a strictly break even basis. It's only the knowledge that a humiliating double relegation into the national league would tank the value of the club to almost nothing that probably convinced him to just barely keep us afloat.

I've got to say I've never felt so down about the club as I do now. I'm struggling to see anything good at the moment. We've lost a excellent manager in Derek and we've replaced him with an easy , money saving option no disrespect meant to Ged . I'm also sick of all this we are broke and can't afford to pay a new managers wages , we were paying Derek's wage so surely that was sufficient to get somebody with more experience. I was under the impression there were lots of candidates for the job. We look like a club destined for the drop... I hope I'm wrong but that's my opinion whether people like it or not...

I think this really is the solution. Whether its through the Trust or whoever, we need to be getting the message out that MFC is up for sale and we are a bunch worth taking under a rich benefactor's wing. MFC might never make huge profits but with a little investment for a multi-millionnaire they could be on to a good thing.

I broadly agree with all of your post, but an alternative to the money for a manager comment, may be by reducing what we pay Ged, compared to Derek, is it frees up some cash for an extra player in January? Or even, to keep someone who we're at risk of losing? For example, McKiernan is only 21, so if he moved to another club in England, we'd get compensation. But, if he moved to Scotland, he'd go for nothing.

Fortunately, there won't be any Scottish managers, who know anything about our players... :?

Tyson Fury is playing up to the media again, making the most of Morecambe v Ryan Reynolds. He may be a bit too 'interesting', but it would be good if he put some cash in, leaving the running of the club to the board, then milking the publicity.

But, that's looking very unlikely, so we'll keep our eye open for an entrepreneur teenager, with a drinks company that doesn't sell drinks.

Wouldn't surprise me if DA comes calling in January via Burnley for our loanee Michael Mellon with the carrot of offering him SPL football so that he's in the home country shop window for his Scotland opportunities.

People can chant about Jason till the cows come home.

This problem started when PMG didn't do due diligence on Diego Lemos when he thought he was selling his shareholding to him in 2017 ish.

Ever since that date the 80% shareholding has been held by several people of dubious character and Jason is just the latest.

He has already let us drop into EFL2 and could easily let us drop back into the Vanarama rather than sell his shares at a price that loses him money.

It would be much appreciated if the local board could update us on any potential/possible new owners and whether we can discount Saab Holdings. Carlisle United fans were kept informed about the takeover/sale of their club during the process so why do we have to endure an embargo/blackout of the sale of our club ?

Yes , I fear we are in a terminal spin that will end with us having the best ground in the NW Counties.

Ged is a nice guy and obviously a good coach but there is a huge difference between being a coach and a manager.

I've been saying that for months but it's always fallen on deaf ears or gagged mouths.

There are so many things that have happened of late that my club is beginning to feel as no longer my club.

The loss of Brian who looked after the computing on match days....

A reported £10 charge for some to drink in the upstairs bar....

Security that is so heavy handed and a Head of Match day security who prowls around the dug out area looking to potential trouble.....

We are in EFL2 NOT the Premiership for fu*k sake....

You have been high jacked. People’s hatred of J has meant celebrating this win has collapsed. Look we are not in a good place, everyone knows it and we just want to be happy for a little bit, hard as it is, but the 3rd round that’s Great, enjoy look forward to tomorrow’s draw.
