I thought it was a case of a share issue for the £200k he put into the club to pay the wages caused by the bank delay.

According to this, Saab is the second-biggest shareholder at Morecambe FC (with 3.8%).

Couple of possible scenarios:

SJ is a puppet of Jason and being used to smoke out another interested party into an improved offer.

SJ has money but not from a legitimate business. He's basically stalling any application to the EFL until he can get his paperwork in order and Jason is willing to wait as the offer is far superior to any other interested party.

All pure speculation of course but I am struggling to see any other more likely scenario

Sarbjot is legit, heading a consortium. They've been jerked around by Bond group and had pretty much given up, but the board's statement brought them back to the table?

I suspect your guesses are more accurate but nothing would surprise me.

No evidence he is legitimate. If we was, would he really want to do business with a guy like Jason?

Sarb try and buy the club for silly money but fail to provide EFL with evidence required.

Club try to drum up interest but nothing happens. Maybe the interested party from "afar" ended up in Cumbria. Club loses Derek Adams.

Sarb comes back with a healthier balance sheet and begin takeover talks. BoD's don't want Sarb and release statement again trying to get some new interest. BoD's running out of options

Sarb and his gang rock up at a game, pretty much sticking two fingers up at the fans

Fans were busy asking Jason to sell the club and he was already doing it. We were looking the wrong way.

Things should move forward very fast then, you would think, with SJ teaming up with Brindley Capital to buy Morecambe FC. Has he got enough to satisfy Jason? who knows, that’s the enigma about the whole situation, it’s just all to difficult to understand. Will they pass all the test they have to pass with the league? It’s all very puzzling because of the inexplicable situation.

Sounds to me as though we are getting rid of one investment company only to be tied in with another.

If that is the case then let's hope that they are more professional and understand the finances involved in running a sporting company and that to make a profit out of a football club outside of the top tear is highly unlikely.

Football clubs at our level are normally the playthings of their owners. And if that is the case surely it's better to be in the hands of a local consortium who are already backers of our club rather than some so called rich kid based in the Midlands.....who has no affinity with our club :?: :?: :?:

Sadly we don't get a say in who Jason sells the club to.
Has a local consortium ever even come forward with a bid?

I think it has been well documented that there was interest from a local company but as for a local consortium I doubt it very much but doesn't stop me wishing there was even though that is unlikely to happen.....sadly.

Gone are the halcyon days when we our club was financed by local entrepreneurs.

I'm still living in hope that my Euro milions ticket will be a winner.... ;) :D

Yes, I had heard of an interested local consortium but just wondered if any official approach had been made.

As a Euro winner of £100m one could invest say £15m and give the club the yearly interest without suffering any serious financial lose to yourself.

Dream on......

If Sarbjot Johal and his cohorts turn up on the 23rd against MK Dons, we can take it as things are happening behind the scenes. With all the speculation, me included in that, you just want to be treat properly as fan, not much to ask of people is it? When your stood on the Berlin Wall for just about 2hrs like many where last Sat and your not told diddly squat and it take four days to dry out your coat you feel, you daft sod, do they care about my support, our support or not.
So come on Board tel us something even if its nowt is going on.

The last time he announced he was buying the club he had it plastered all over his Instagram account...then he deleted everything from it....

Even though he's appeared from the wilderness there's still nothing to show on his social media that he's still intent in buying the club...but maybe he's not willing to show his hand just yet....

It could just be, as simple as someone with a couple of hundred grand of shares, is entitled to take some mates to watch a game and have dinner in the boardroom beforehand?

If that's for the £200K, that values the club at £5.26 million

Usually when they turn up they have lunch with our Co Chairmen in the Local Choice Suite. On Saturday both our Co Chairman had lunch in the Local Choice Suite with a few guests NOT Sarbjot and Co.

I suspect their appearance was as much of a surprise to them as it was to the rest of us...but I could be wrong.

Accompanied with Sarbjot were his usual entourage PLUS a couple aged gentlemen who could have been related or even 'the money men' although on a previous visit he was accompanied by an individual who looked to be worth a bob or two..... :?: :?: :?:

So did I but I’ve just been thinking was it actually the money Johal put in to pay the wages? Just a thought, his £200K looks like it’s still in the club from what others are saying on here,

Just been looking at the local press in Birmingham about Sarbjot Johal and Sarbjot capital. In Sept 2023 they saved a local car wheel hub manufacturer, Rimstock in Birmingham. Rimstock are the approved supplier to Austin Martin, Bentley, Land Rover Jaguar McLaren Farrari Alpine and BMW, other motor sports and the military. Do Sarbjot Capital have links with the BritAsia Fund? The point being if he was allowed to take over Rimstock in Sept this year why has he not filed proper accounts and sent them to the league? I suspect his company’s will have to do this sometime early next year. The enigma goes on!!
