Concerning news to me. Hope it's nothing too serious and he makes a speedy recovery back to the touchline.

Edit: Ged's latest interview indicates John will be out of action for about a month and Baz will do his best to help alongside his Goalkeeping coach role.

Main thing is to wish John a speedy recovery. Hope to see him back, in shorts, in February.

Here's wishing John a speedy recovery.

Found a photographl the other day when I sponsored a match in 1992 at Christie Park when John was the team Captain. Photo shows me shaking hands with John on a snow covered field prior the game. Happy memories of some good times at CP.

I've got the original print of that photo somewhere Neil.

If my memory serves me correctly, you were actually his kit sponsor for the season which was a new innovation then for the club.

1990/91 season.

Serious when you see how Ivan Toney was punished.

Deserves the punishment when it comes. Knowing it's not the correct thing to do and risk the reputation of the club and the issues the suspension could bring to the team is very disappointing.

There will be a lot of people feeling let down tonight. I suspect any suspension will see the end of him at Morecambe.

Such a stupid thing to do knowing the rules. I hope Ged kicks him in to touch.

some people are assuming John as been betting on Morecambe game’s and results, like he’s been match fixing, when he could of innocently been doing a football accumulator etc.

lets wait and see, innocent until proven guilty, fair trial and all that.

Clearly a massive problem within the sport. A Huddersfield player was banned today as well as the news about John. There will come a point where The FA and PFA have to find a solution rather than just banning everybody.

Agree. The club is rightly not commenting until the charge has been investigated and nor should we. Afterwards people can say what they like but not yet.

As the saga with our club just keeps on unravelling time after time, surely we should get Netflix and Agatha Christie on board

If only we could get Tyson involved, we'd have a huge hit show on our hands.

Those in the industry are forbidden from betting on football, they are allowed to bet on other sports. My take is why then bet on football!! I just don’t see money raining into your bank account, so many things can go wrong. I hope for his integrity that he never bet on Morecambe FC.

McMahon was appointed caretaker manager at Tranmere in 2014, after manager Ronnie Moore was suspended...

...due to betting on football matches!

He got a £2000 fine which included profit he made from the bets and was given a suspended for a month.

Not sure how this will put them off unless it involves match fixing and winning thousands
