we had some money then this is the type of player we should be looking to recruit....as we should look towards other non league players who show potential...

If other clubs are after a player we cannot compete in the open market. We can only bring in young players on loan, older players not getting a game or out of contract players till the end of the season. Morecambe offering long term contracts don’t seem to be happening. Ged has a heck of a job and hopefully he can do some good business. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like before this Sat.

But then, if you spent the transfer budget on Adama Sidebeh, you probably wouldn't play Saul Fox-Akande who, I suspect could also score 15 in 30 games for Warrington Roland's.

Never seen the Fox play but hope that GB gives him some game time to see if he has some potential going forward.

I suspect the Mansfield game will be a repeat of the Swansea game and the Senior cup against Barrow with a number of fringe/younger players getting game time. Being realistic, even with our available "top 11" at the moment, with the absence of the loanees and the injuries, we've little chance of winning, so it's another good opportunity for Ged to try out those who've been sat warming the bench and seen little game time and any academy players that show potential. We're probably going to lose whatever Ged does tomorrow, so it's another good opportunity to rest some of our "best" players, many of whom have played week in week out and probably need a rest, and try to see what the fringe/young players can do, so that they can be brought in to the "top" team in future games that we've more chance of winning.

Why so much defeatist for this game :?:

They are a good team but nobody is unbeatable so everything is possible.

Would be like a lot of previous games where we've been written off and surprised everybody

It will be difficult but just like us to produce a shock....we've done it before.

Yes RR there's always a chance. Mansfield are more than a good team they are a very good team and we'd have done well to get anything from this one with the team of a few weeks ago with all the good loanees, now the chance is a very thin one. For the word 'defeatist' please substitute 'realism'.

Interested to see what team Ged will go for tomorrow. Have a feeling he'll want to stick with a back four at home, in which case maybe:

Mair
Senior - Rawson - Bedeau -Tutonda
Taylor - Songo'o
Edwards - Adams - Mayor
Brown/Slew

Could also see Taylor at No10 instead of Adams with Threlkeld coming into midfield alongside Songo'o, especially against such strong opposition in Mansfield. I think Davenport has pretty much blown a lot of his chances.

We have to go with what we have available, Love not back till next wk. JJ for late feb early March and Moore hopefully for April. So it’s down to Ged and what he can manage to bring in before the window shuts. Mansfield will want to respond to their defeat last wk so if the Morecambe from Sept/Oct can turn up you never know.

Good to see such positivity around the Maz post match..... despite the somewhat negativity pre match.

True but have you never swung one way and then the other? As you are fond of saying...."I'm delighted to be wrong!" :D
