MFC Membership renewal: Email Problems

MFC Membership renewal: Email Problems

Postby redrobo » Wed Jan 24, 2024 11:02 am

Received an email this morning informing me that my membership expires on 1st June and that i can renew by using a link provided.

It also suggested that unless I renew before that date that my current arrangement ie seat will be available to everybody.

Interestingly the Membership number quoted does NOT collerate with the number shown on my card.

Not sure if this is a scam or what. Anybody else received such an email.... :?: :?: :?:

Also usually there is a window when existing member have time in which to renew their membership.

Just phoned the club and they are not aware of such requests being sent. SCAM.

I received the same, I just deleted it as I have a standing season ticket and didn't think it was applicable to me.

Ohhh, yes the number is on the cards but it no longer recognises it when you log in. It was the only way i could log into my account as the system doesn't recognise me.

Hmm... something very odd going on. This is a very specific targetting for scammers, unless they have access to the club's email database. Two Morecambe FC fans, both contacted? If someone from the club is reading this, it may be worth a check?

I've already deleted the email, but I'm pretty sure that's the same email address that sent the notice about last night's postponement several hours too late.

Just had a phone call from Martin Thomas.

Can anyone who has received the email for renewing their season ticket please email him with a copy of the email you received then they can look into it.

It is the correct ticketing email address, but the request has seemingly been sent out too early by the ticketing company

Just the received the following, having emailed as advised above.

'Having looked into this email it appears it is the renewal reminder from last season. A very small amount of notifications appear to have become stuck in the mailing system last year and the email didn’t send when it should have. When the system has the sent out the Crewe notification it has noticed it had unsent emails and sent these at the same time. I apologise for any inconvenience that this may have caused and can assure you we will speak to the ticketing software supplier to ensure the email functionality is working as it should.'

So nothing sinister in the end.

I received the 'dodgy email' at 4:08pm

And again at 4:21pm!

Still not been told that the game is postponed though!

I too received one of these emails yesterday (25th), supposedly from the Club. I have forwarded the email to the Club Commercial Dept.

Unless I hear anything further about this, I'll asume the email was a mistake and just wait until Summer for the usual Club messages about season ticket renewals....
