"Inevitably, it would be mixed: many home supporters in the ground this evening wouldn’t have a clue who he is, given the over half a century which has elapsed since he was one of their own".

Bit harsh, he's not THAT old! 8-)
“Britain faces a simple and inescapable choice - stability and strong Government with me, or chaos with Ed Miliband: ".

David Cameron. May 4th 2015.
So how did that work out then?

Oops! But what's twenty five years when you're as ancient as I am? Sorry Ged - I will change it...

From Doc's article..

Reading this reminded me that April 27th will be the 50th anniversary of our first Wembley trip.
A glorious 2-1 victory over Dartford

Alan, Friday 19th April, is the 50th anniversary dinner commemorating the FA Trophy win, taking place at the Mazuma.
All the surviving players, including Player/manager Dave Roberts, Jimmy Sutton, John Coates, Mucker Pearson, Keith Galley, Jeff Street, Barry Kershaw will all be present, with film from the day itself and memories, photos etc from fans. Should be a great night.
Frisnit Frisnit!!
