Must be very close to a suspension

Dave Salmon reckoned it was his 10th booking which means a two-game suspension. Shame as he's been so good but I suppose it was going to come at some stage and at least he can serve it now rather than at the business end of the season!

No shooting boots required this evening Danny, we didn’t get into any positions to take a shot. We could have carried on for a month and we wouldn’t have scored. It looked like we more or less threw the towel in when we went 2-0 down, as if we were saving our legs for Saturday. We were pretty much time wasting on our own corners with the amount of time it took to get the ball in (plenty of time for the opposition defenders to compose / organise themselves). I imagine it must be absolutely exhausting mentally to go behind so often then have to dig yourself out, especially away from home. Watching it certainly is.

Ps after getting hammered at home by their local rivals last week, Grimsby are surely going to be pretty fired up aren’t they, so we’d better turn up on Saturday absolutely full of beans from minute one!

Interesting to see who comes in for Tutonda ..Possibly play Stokes there and bring in Rawson at centre half

47 points from 32 games

Probably need another 23 points from 42 points available to get in the play offs

Tough ask but at least we are still in with a chance

Walsall were the better team but the referee got 3 big decisions wrong, the second yellow that wasn't shown, their 3rd goal and not giving Edwards a penalty when he was clearly pulled back. I am sure Ged will have something to say about the ref. That said the bench looked very thin tonight.

If Gwion is fit enough to start on Saturday he needs to be in the starting 11

Melbourne would be a straight swap.

So how did that work out then?

Yeah agree with this, Slew looks better coming off the bench and running at tired legs.

Think he might shift Bedeau to lb and have Rawson come back in at cb.

We've conceded a few goals recently though so I think I'd prefer to swap out Stokes completely and give Melbourne a go at lb.

I’d like to see Stokes and Rawson given a go as a centre back pairing. And I’d put max as left back on Saturday.

I don't think you can play Stokes in a back four. He looks happier on the left side of a threebut his lack of pace is exposed without cover.

Swap Rawson for Stokes and bring in Max at left back. Songo’o in a two in front of back four and move Taylor back forward taking out Adam’s. Last bring in Edward’s from the start for Larsson and see how long he can last, move Slew out on the left for Charlie and bring Garner back up front.

Mayor
Senior. Rawson. Bedeau. Melbourne
Songo’o. Khumbeni
Edwards. Taylor. Slew
Garner
But let’s give it a right go, we have to bounce back with a really positive display and result.

Take out Adams?!? Apart from the two full backs, he is the most creative player on the pitch by far!

Our lack of a striker made last night a long 90 minutes. We didn't look likely to score. Slew is not good enough for 90 minutes, he is much better coming on when defenders are tiring. Larsson doesn't offer much at the moment and defensively we are not tight enough. Would like to see Edwards start a game. He offers a bit of unpredictability but I understand he is injury prone. I think survival in the EFL should be the goal this season with hopefully a new owner and the building of a decent squad to challenge next season.

Adam’s:- goals nil. Assists nil.
Taylor:- 1 goal. Assists nil
McKiernan 7 goals. Assists 0

Just a preference, I think we would actually both go for JJ if he was fit.

I think realistically we've probably already survived. We only need 18 points (6 wins) from an available 42 (14 games) for that to be a mathematical certainty and that's making a bold assumption that Sutton win every single one of their remaining games, which of course they won't.

I agree the short term goal should be to build a decent squad for the future. That starts with getting our better players tied down to longer contracts and not losing everyone in the summer again.

I don't think there's any harm in aiming for playoffs though, it might be sensible but it's no fun just being content with mid-table/survival whilst we have an opportunity to aim higher.
